Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, spoke at the forum.
"The Mekong Delta's goods have great potential to meet the strict standards of the Japanese market. However, the results of investment and cooperation with Japanese partners are still not as expected. We see the need to attract investment capital, advanced technology, and modern management experience from Japan to increase the added value of Mekong Delta goods" - Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee commented.
Can Tho City leaders pledged to create all favorable and transparent conditions and provide maximum support in administrative procedures, land and human resources so that Japanese enterprises can confidently invest and develop production and business in Can Tho.
Mr. Toshinao Tanaka, President and CEO of Takesho Joint Stock Company, informed in February that the company cooperated with AEON Vietnam and Can Tho University with the goal of making a great contribution to the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta.

According to Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi, Chief Representative of JETRO Office in Ho Chi Minh City, through business trips to survey the investment environment in the southern provinces, he realized that the potential for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and aquaculture in the Mekong Delta is huge.

Okabe Mitsutoshi, Chief Representative of JETRO Office in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the potential for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and fisheries in the Mekong Delta is huge.
The Mekong Delta provinces are very interested in improving agricultural production, achieving the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, as well as training to provide high-quality human resources.
Japanese enterprises have advanced technology that can help Vietnamese enterprises solve these problems. At the same time, Japanese enterprises also have a need to receive high-quality human resources from this region.
However, JETRO currently does not have full information about Vietnamese enterprises that want to cooperate with Japanese enterprises. Currently, the number of Vietnamese enterprises proactively contacting JETRO is still limited.
