On November 18th, in commemoration of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20th), a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, led by Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, visited the family of the late Professor Dr. Nguyen Thien Thanh, Labor Hero, People's Physician, former Director of Thong Nhat Hospital, and former Head of the Geriatrics Department at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Thanh is the father of Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
During his visit to the family, Mr. Hai, on behalf of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, expressed gratitude and acknowledged the contributions of the late Professor Nguyen Thien Thanh and his family generations to the education and training, healthcare, and science sectors of Ho Chi Minh City and the entire country.
On behalf of the family, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan expressed his gratitude for the city leaders' sentiments towards his father, Nguyen Thien Thanh, and his family.
Mr. Nhan also discussed with the delegation about the development of the education sector and offered suggestions on policies for developing happy schools in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the same day, a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City leaders, led by Mr. Pham Thanh Kien - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council - visited and congratulated Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Nang, former Rector of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics ; and Distinguished Educator, Associate Professor Dr. Cao Minh Thi, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
Mr. Kien expressed his gratitude for the teachers' contributions to the city's education system, wishing them good health and continued contributions and suggestions for the city's development.
