Comrade Le Duc Van (born in 1928, also known as Nguyen Huu Phuc, 83 years of Party membership, currently residing in Long Bien district) is the Head of the Liaison Committee of the Hoang Dieu National Salvation Youth Union.
During his revolutionary activities, he held many positions and roles, including: participating in the Ngo Quyen Team - a patriotic revolutionary student organization founded at Buoi School ( Hanoi ); participating in the Hanoi National Salvation Youth; and participating in the Thanh Hoang Dieu National Salvation Youth Union - a revolutionary organization that played a crucial role in the victory of the August Revolution of 1945.
After 1945, Comrade Le Duc Van continued to participate in the revolution, build the capital city, and held positions such as: Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Party Committee, Principal of the Vietnam Dance School, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, and Deputy Head of the Organization Department - Ministry of Culture.
For his contributions, Comrade Le Duc Van was awarded the Third-Class Independence Order and the First-Class Anti-American Resistance Order by the President of Vietnam. In 2023, he was awarded the title of "Outstanding Citizen of Hanoi".
Expressing gratitude for the contributions of Comrade Le Duc Van, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong affirmed that, whether in his current positions or after retirement, Comrade Le Duc Van actively served the revolutionary cause of the Party, making important contributions to the construction and development of the Capital and the country. In particular, his contributions have always served as an exemplary model in educating generations of Hanoi's youth union members and young people about the revolutionary historical traditions.
Affirming that the Party Committee, government, and people of Hanoi are inheriting the glorious traditions of veteran revolutionaries, overcoming difficulties and challenges to build and develop the capital city into an increasingly prosperous, civilized, and modern place, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee wished Comrade Le Duc Van continued good health. Comrade Le Duc Van is a valuable asset to his family in particular and the city in general, a vivid historical witness with high symbolic and educational significance for the current generation. The Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee hoped that, with his experience and wisdom, Comrade Le Duc Van would continue to care for, encourage, and support the Party Committee and government of the city in the construction and development process.
On this occasion, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also requested that local Party committees and authorities continue to pay attention to policies and benefits for veteran revolutionaries and meritorious individuals in the area; and further strengthen the education of revolutionary traditions for the younger generation.
