This year, Lao Cai has two students exempted from the high school graduation exam, both from Lao Cai Provincial Specialized High School. They are Vu Nam Hai, a 12th-grade student majoring in Mathematics and Informatics, and Le Thanh Trung, a 12th-grade student majoring in Mathematics.
At the 2023-2024 National Excellent Student Examination, Vu Nam Hai won first prize in Informatics and was selected to join the Vietnamese team for regional and international Olympiads; Le Thanh Trung won second prize in Mathematics and was selected to participate in the selection process for the regional and international Olympiads.
According to regulations, students who are exempt from the high school graduation exam and are eligible for direct admission to university must still register for direct admission to their desired universities no later than June 30th.
