" U.S. arms aid to Ukraine highlights the challenges in maintaining, rebuilding, and increasing Washington's ammunition stockpiles," the National Defense Industry Strategy Implementation Plan states.
The plan further indicates that the Pentagon needs to increase its capabilities to ensure sufficient production of new, more advanced types of ammunition.

Meanwhile, The Economist reported that the US is no longer able to provide military aid to Ukraine. “We have nothing left to offer them. If we were to continue providing aid, we would be taking serious risks elsewhere,” The Economist quoted a US official as saying.
It remains unclear whether Washington can supply or produce enough weapons for Ukraine. Previously, The Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, reported that the country was experiencing shortages of certain types of anti-aircraft missiles due to aid to Israel and Ukraine, raising questions about the Pentagon's ability to respond to conflicts in the Middle East, Europe, and potential confrontations in the Asia- Pacific region.
Russia believes that supplying weapons to Ukraine hinders a solution directly involving NATO countries in the military conflict and that they are " playing with fire ".
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that any shipment containing weapons aid to Ukraine is a legitimate target of Moscow. Lavrov stated that the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, not only through supplying weapons but also through training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries.
The Kremlin further emphasized that Western arms supplies to Ukraine not only fail to contribute to peace negotiations but also negatively impact the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
