On the morning of January 29th (the first day of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Snake), the flag -raising ceremony marking the start of the new year took place in a sacred and solemn atmosphere in Bach Long Vi island district, Hai Phong city.
At exactly 8 o'clock, leaders, officials, and soldiers of the armed forces units on the island gathered at the Central Square of Bach Long Vi district to attend the New Year's flag-raising ceremony.
Under the red flag with a yellow star, officials, employees, and soldiers on Bach Long Vi Island sang the sacred national anthem in unison.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Dien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bach Long Vi District, expressed his hope that in 2025, officials, soldiers, and people on the island will continue to develop its potential, position, and advantages to transform it into a fortress protecting our sea and airspace in the Gulf of Tonkin, a center for fisheries logistics services, a center for aquaculture development, and a tourist attraction, in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 45 of the Politburo and the advice of General Secretary To Lam when he visited the island district in 2024.
Speaking with a reporter from Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, Lieutenant Colonel Le Viet Dung, Political Officer of the Bach Long Vi Border Guard Station, emotionally shared: “Sailing the flag and singing the national anthem under the national flag at Bach Long Vi, a frontline island of the Fatherland, on the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year always leaves a special feeling in every officer and soldier of the island district. The military and people of Bach Long Vi Island will strive their best to create new vitality for the island, plant trees, build freshwater reservoirs, protect the environment and biodiversity of the island's seas and islands, and firmly protect the airspace and sea of the Fatherland.”
