Speaking at the program, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, said that caring for wounded soldiers, showing concern for and visiting the families of martyrs and those who have made contributions to the revolution is an honor and a responsibility, expressing the gratitude of today's generation for the invaluable sacrifices of their ancestors for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Mr. Hoang Duc Loc (74 years old, Tay Ho district, Hanoi), a war invalid who fought in the Tay Ninh battlefield since 1968, said that on the annual War Invalids and Martyrs Day, he always feels the care, visits, and encouragement from all levels of government, from the central to local levels.
“The gifts are not only material support, but also a great source of spiritual encouragement, reminding us that our sacrifices are always recognized and appreciated. This is also the motivation for us to continue living and contributing to building the country,” said Mr. Hoang Duc Loc.

Also on the morning of July 2nd, the delegation of the Hanoi Friendship Association visited the Hanoi City Martyrs' Cemetery to offer incense, remembering and paying tribute to the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and heroically sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.

The "Lotus Connecting Love" program, part of the Hanoi Lotus Festival 2024, will officially open on July 12th. This event, the first of its kind in Hanoi, aims to promote and celebrate the beauty and cultural values of Thang Long Hanoi. On the evening of July 26th, at the Can Tho City Martyrs' Cemetery, a candle-lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs was held, along with an art program titled "The Call of the Homeland - Aspiration for Contribution," organized by the Can Tho City Youth Union, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in coordination with the Army Youth Committee and the Political Department of Military Region 9, to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2023). |
