Consecutive food poisoning cases, what does the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety say?

At the press conference on the socio -economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of December 4, the Department of Food Safety responded to information related to recent food poisoning cases.

Regarding the recent food poisoning situation and solutions to overcome it in the coming time, the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City stated that recently there have been a number of food poisoning cases in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Department of Food Safety has coordinated with functional agencies and People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones to carry out many actions to strengthen food safety work in the area.

Including strengthening food safety training for food service establishments, collective kitchens in schools, industrial parks, hospitals, and charity kitchens.

At the same time, in the line direction work, the Department of Food Safety issued an official dispatch on strengthening food poisoning prevention, controlling origin and ensuring food safety in the area.

At the same time, strengthen consumer propaganda about choosing safe food, should buy products at places with clear origin, fixed and reputable business locations.

The Department of Food Safety believes that to overcome the situation, there needs to be close coordination and synchronous implementation by functional agencies in propagating, inspecting and monitoring food safety; strict compliance with food safety laws by production and business establishments and the important role of consumers in choosing and using food.

In November alone, Ho Chi Minh City had three consecutive food poisoning incidents that sent hundreds of people to the hospital. The most serious incident was when more than 316 people were poisoned after eating Ms. Bich's bread.

On the afternoon of December 4, the Department of Food Safety also provided additional information regarding the incident related to the Co Bich Toad Bread establishment (business household Ly Nguyen Ngoc Bich Van, address 112A Nguyen Thai Son, Hanh Thong ward). The Department of Food Safety concluded that this was a case of food poisoning.

The Department of Food Safety has issued a document requesting 16 related medical examination and treatment facilities to confirm the health effects of food poisoning patients in the incident, as a basis for completing the administrative violation handling file for the facility causing food poisoning according to the provisions of law.
