On August 15th, in Phu Quoc City ( Kien Giang Province), Brigade 175 - Command of Naval Region 5 held the closing ceremony of the 2024 Model Regular Ship Competition, Ship Training Competition, and Ship Captain and Political Officer Competition.

This competition and exercise involved combat ships and support vessels from Squadrons 515 and 516. The competition covered all aspects of onboard operations, with particular emphasis on content outlined in the annual training plan and new issues arising from practical experience.

To prepare for the competition and exercises, the ships closely followed the plan, organized thorough briefings, and implemented the plan seriously, strictly, and effectively. Notably, they did a good job of propaganda and promotion; thoroughly trained in combat deployment procedures; maintained, serviced, and repaired hundreds of technical items; and removed rust and repainted thousands of square meters of ship hull plating…

Throughout the competition, the officers and soldiers of the ships demonstrated professionalism, strict adherence to regulations, a thorough understanding of their duties, proficiency in combat deployment plans, and calm and confident handling of situations, ensuring absolute safety.

Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung delivered a speech giving instructions.

Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung, Commander of the Region, acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility of the officers and soldiers of Brigade 175 in organizing and participating in the competition. He stated that the unit needs to continue to build on its achievements, focusing on basic training, mastering and specializing in the exploitation and use of weapons and technical equipment, and improving the quality of officer training.

At the same time, he requested that units maintain the criteria for building "Regular, Exemplary Ships" and improve the ability to manage, maintain, and utilize technical equipment to meet assigned tasks, contributing to building strong, exemplary, and outstanding units in all aspects.

The commander of Brigade 175 presented awards to collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded flags and certificates of merit to 14 teams and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements.

On the morning of July 29th, the Command of Naval Region 5, in coordination with local Party committees, authorities, and sponsors, held an inauguration and handover ceremony for a "House of Compassion" to the family of Ms. Le Thi Ut, Luong Phi commune, Tri Ton district, An Giang province.
