From the United Nations peacekeeping missions in the Abyei region, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic, Vietnamese forces participating in peacekeeping operations have expressed their profound sorrow at the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
On the morning of July 25th, the Vietnamese Engineering Corps and the Level 2 Field Hospital No. 5, currently serving in Abyei and South Sudan (Africa), lowered their flags to half-mast, set up an altar, and organized a ceremony for officers, soldiers, and international delegations to pay their respects, offer condolences, and commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Major Nguyen Mau Vu, political officer of the Vietnam Engineering Corps, shared: "The officers and soldiers are deeply saddened by the immense loss suffered by the Party, the State, the people, and the family of the General Secretary. The life and revolutionary career of the General Secretary is a shining example of courage, revolutionary fervor, and impeccable morality, respected not only by the people and soldiers of the whole country but also by many leaders and people around the world."
"Transforming grief into concrete and practical actions, during the performance of their duties at the Mission, the officers and staff of the Vietnamese Engineering Team will uphold their determination, overcome all difficulties, ensure absolute safety, thoroughly understand and strictly implement the Party and State's diplomatic viewpoints and guidelines; and maintain good relations with international friends."
"The Vietnamese Engineering Corps will support the government and people in the area to improve living conditions; excellently complete all tasks, contributing to further enhancing the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army; contributing to raising the image and position of Vietnam and its people on the international stage, worthy of the trust and affection of the General Secretary for the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army," Major Nguyen Mau Vu shared.
