According to the announcement of Foreign Trade University, in 2024 the school plans to enroll 4,130 students with 6 admission methods. Compared to 2023, the school's admission methods in 2024 will basically remain unchanged.
However, the notable point this year is that for the first time, the school screened candidates by adding additional criteria to methods 1 and 2 (admission methods using high school academic results).
With methods 1 and 2, candidates must also meet the condition of having a total score of the 2024 high school graduation exam subjects of one of the school's admission subject groups (including regional and subject priority points) of 24 points or higher.
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thu Huong - Vice Principal of Foreign Trade University - said that the addition of the necessary condition of ensuring the minimum score of the high school graduation exam in the general admission of the school has two reasons.
Firstly, to unify the application of the excellent high school exam floor score of 24 points for all methods of using high school exam results. Secondly, it is possible to use the comparison of high school graduation exam results and high school learning results as an indirect tool to help high schools standardize student assessment.
In 2024, Nha Trang University will enroll 3,700 students with 4 admission methods. This year is also the first time the school has set a minimum entrance score requirement. The school requires candidates to have an average score of 6.0 or higher in 5 semesters of high school. Some majors also apply an additional minimum score for English, the specific score will be announced by the school later.
At the University of Science and Technology, to be eligible for the school's direct admission method this year, candidates need to have excellent academic results in grades 11 and 12 and have an average score of 9.2/10 or higher in math, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science.
With the admission method based on high school academic results combined with interviews, candidates need to achieve an average score of 8.8 or higher in math, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training , candidates should note that currently on social networks, many enrollment plans from previous years are being posted, which are inaccurate and not updated.
Therefore, candidates need to carefully read the latest admission plans of the schools, need to clearly understand the conditions and regulations of the entrance exam (if any), to avoid not meeting the conditions, leading to "passing and failing" as some cases had to be handled in previous years.
Ms. Thuy advises that in order not to miss the opportunity for early admission, candidates need to adhere to the prescribed deadline and necessary supporting documents to submit early admission applications to universities.
