The Argentinian goalkeeper is ready to join the Red Devils at the end of the summer transfer window, after agreeing to personal terms last weekend.
However, the Emiliano Martinez deal fell through, forcing MU to shift their focus to signing promising goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp on a long-term basis.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Jadon Sancho's refusal to join Aston Villa on a long-term deal has derailed Emiliano "Dibu" Martinez's transfer.
He told GiveMeSport: "From what I know, the idea from MU is to swap permanent contracts between Jadon Sancho and Emiliano Martinez."
Essentially, there was no talk of money involved, as both sides valued each player at around £25 million.
However, the swap deal couldn't go as planned because Jadon Sancho only agreed to join Aston Villa on loan.
The English striker did not want to move to Villa Park on a long-term contract. Therefore, the exchange deal with Emiliano Martinez officially fell through.
Yesterday, Aston Villa announced a one-season loan deal for Sancho. They will pay 80% of his current salary of £250,000 per week.
The proportion of Sancho's salary that the centre-town club has to pay could increase, depending on how successful Sancho is at Villa Park.
