On the evening of June 21st, over 10,000 spectators at the DIFF 2025 stands and hundreds of thousands of other people looked up at the Han River sky, enjoying the night with the largest number of fireworks displays in the qualifying round, featuring performances by Portugal and the United Kingdom.

With nearly 100 years of experience and a strong reputation in Europe, the Macedos Pirotecnia fireworks team from Portugal ignited the atmosphere of Da Nang with a true rock concert against the backdrop of the Han River at night.

The fireworks display begins with the exhilarating rhythm of "Rock You Like A Hurricane," the famous hit by the rock band Scorpions. To the tune of "Here I am!" (Here I am! Swept away by the storm), bursts of fireworks erupt, engulfing the audience in a musical "storm." It feels as if the entire audience is immersed in a frenzied concert, with lights, electronic instruments, and a harmonious chorus.

The melodious tune of "How I Love Vietnam" resounds, illuminated birds soar across the sky, and a series of "sunrise" effect fireworks spread, evoking deep emotions. A quiet yet profound message about love for nature and a green future begins to unfold, slowly and thoughtfully.

The latter part is an emotional symphony as Lusitana Paixão, Rio Favo de Mel, or even excerpts from "Lacrimosa" (Mozart) are rearranged, building the climax to its peak. Characteristic fireworks effects such as comets, light cascades, and volcanic fireworks successively paint the sky a vibrant world of light, both majestic and delicate.

Familiar to DIFF audiences, Pyrotex Fireworx from the United Kingdom returned to the Han River with a performance likened to a poetic cinematic concert titled "Waves of Emotion." With approximately 8,000 uniquely designed fireworks, each act in the performance was a piece of music, guiding viewers from gentle and romantic to exhilarating and sublime.
The opening is tranquil, like a love song written in the depths of the ocean. But then it unexpectedly accelerates with a familiar cinematic soundtrack from the 007 – James Bond series, plunging viewers into a world of thrilling action.
The finale of the performance transported the audience back to timeless masterpieces: Canto Della Terra, Live and Let Die, Dancing Queen, Future World Music… All blended together in a mesmerizing fireworks symphony. It was a moment of exhilaration, a moment of both serenity and transcendence, as if standing in the middle of an outdoor fireworks opera.

While Portugal delivered a fiery rock concert, England was a symphony of styles, from action and romance to cinema. All blended together in a wave of emotion that captivated viewers.
