On the morning of August 7, in Hanoi, the Political Officer School coordinated with the Propaganda Department and the People's Army Newspaper to organize a scientific seminar: "The spiritual and political strength of the August Revolution in 1945 - Significance for the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland in the new era".

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, Director of the Propaganda Department (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army) affirmed: "The source of the extraordinary victory of the August Revolution is the invincible political and spiritual strength of the entire nation. That strength is the burning desire for independence and freedom in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, which then erupted into a revolutionary storm when the vanguard flag of the Party led the way."

According to him, in the current context, although peace , cooperation and development are still the major trends, extreme nationalism, strategic competition between major countries, along with a series of traditional and non-traditional security issues, from climate change to epidemics, from armed conflicts to cyber security are posing extremely complex challenges.

As for Vietnam, hostile forces still do not give up their plots of "peaceful evolution", violent overthrow, promoting "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the country to eliminate the leadership role of the Party and the socialist regime.

Therefore, looking back at the August Revolution is not simply a tribute to the past, but a vivid reminder of a valuable spiritual asset - a resource for the nation to overcome adversity and maintain the path of national independence associated with socialism in a turbulent era.

Non-traditional security challenges are increasingly fierce.

In his opening speech at the conference, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, pointed out: The world and regional situation is undergoing unpredictable developments. Strategic competition between major countries is increasingly fierce, with many potential factors of instability. Non-traditional security challenges are increasingly fierce, directly impacting global and regional security, including Vietnam.

Domestically, although the national potential has been strengthened, the country's prestige and position in the international arena have been constantly enhanced, we still face many difficulties. In particular, hostile forces continue to promote the plot to "depoliticize" the military, distort the Party's leadership role, and incite "self-evolution" and "self-transformation".

In that context, political and spiritual strength is not an abstract concept but exists every day in life, in action, in the political mettle and belief of each cadre and party member.

Emphasizing the role of human resources in maintaining and promoting political and spiritual resources, Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Sau - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Military Strategy and History said: Cadres at all levels play a decisive role in the results of performing tasks. Building cadres is a strategic issue, a key step in Party building work.

According to him, each cadre and party member needs to "match their words with their actions, superiors set an example for subordinates, cadres set an example for soldiers to learn and follow". From there, every hour, every day, we create and cultivate political and spiritual strength in each specific task and job.

Not only in wartime, but also in peacetime, each soldier, each cadre and party member is an "ideological fortress", steadfast against material temptations, and against all manifestations of political, moral and lifestyle degradation.
