On December 3, students of Nguyen Van Bua Secondary School (Ba Diem Commune, Ho Chi Minh City) were busy packing blank notebooks to send to the program "Collecting notebooks for students in disaster-stricken areas" launched by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. These notebooks were donated by students, teachers and parents. Within 3 days, the school received more than 4,000 notebooks, double the initial estimate.

Among them, the act of Trinh Phu Huong, a student of class 6/7, impressed many people. Despite his young age, Huong had very profound thoughts when deciding to donate 50% of the prize value to friends in the flood-affected areas.
Huong said he has been practicing Taekwondo for 6 years. Recently, Huong won 2 gold medals at the National Taekwondo Club Championship - Korean Ambassador Cup 2025. Although he has not received the bonus yet, when he watched the news and heard about the damage caused by the flood, Huong asked his parents to "advance" 50% of the bonus to donate.

Some students also carefully wrapped their notebooks and put labels on them. Students from Nguyen Van Bua Secondary School hope that this gift will give students in flood-affected areas more motivation to study.

Taking advantage of recess, the students packed their blank notebooks into boxes.

Trinh Phu Huong, a 6/7 grade student, used 50% of his bonus to buy blank notebooks.

Each person did a job, and in no time more than 4,000 notebooks were neatly packed.

Nguyen Thi Kim Anh hopes that students in flood-affected areas will be more motivated to study when they receive blank notebooks.
Huong said that he initially planned to donate all of his money in cash. However, after hearing his teachers say that students in flooded areas were in dire need of notebooks to continue going to school, Huong decided to exchange his donation of 5 million VND to buy 715 blank notebooks.
In particular, some students carefully wrapped and labeled the envelopes before sending them as a message of support to students who are facing difficulties.
Ms. Le Thanh Nguyet, Principal of Nguyen Van Bua Secondary School, said that the school had previously mobilized donations and support for the people of the Central and Central Highlands regions through the Department of Education and Training. Upon receiving information that the Lao Dong Newspaper had launched the meaningful program, the school immediately deployed it to homeroom teachers and parents.
"I am very happy to receive a lot of consensus and support from parents. Up to now, the school has received more than 4,000 blank notebooks and hundreds of pens, double the school's initial expectation," Ms. Nguyet shared.

White notebooks containing the feelings of students in Ho Chi Minh City will be delivered to students in flood-affected areas by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.
Ms. Nguyet said that although the school is located in a suburban area with many difficulties, thanks to the spirit of mutual love of the students, the coordination of the locality and the Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong, there were timely humane and meaningful actions.
