Coach Kim Sang-sik said: "I haven't watched the slow-motion replay yet, but at that time I had a strong belief that there was no offside. I made a recommendation to the referee and the final decision was recognized."

Evaluating the overall performance in the match where U22 Vietnam won 2-1 against Laos, the Korean strategist admitted that the team was not at its best.

" This was the first match at this year's SEA Games. We were a bit nervous. Luckily, everything went smoothly, winning 3 important points on the opening day. We were not in the best condition, nor did we play according to plan.

And I think today's result is the result of the players' efforts. I feel sorry about the goal conceded in the first half. However, today we still won. The players will recover and continue to try to win the match against Malaysia."

Mr. Kim also admitted that the whole team was unlucky in scoring today and apologized to the fans, "I'm sorry for only scoring 2 goals."

According to Mr. Kim, U22 Laos is making remarkable progress with many outstanding individuals. Because the two teams often meet, the Vietnamese youth team understands Laos well and vice versa, Laos also understands Vietnam's tactics. Therefore, in today's match, the team encountered many difficulties in defense.

Closing this match, coach Kim Sang-sik said the whole team will quickly recover to prepare for the match against Malaysia.

He also pointed out that striker Dinh Bac played well but Quoc Viet and Thanh Nhan needed to improve their ability to take advantage of opportunities.
