In a news bulletin released on the morning of May 20, the Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that monitoring satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning showed that thunderstorms were developing and causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the Thu Duc City and Binh Thanh District areas.

Therefore, from now until the end of May, Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region will continue to have widespread thunderstorms with increasing frequency.

“Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Beware of heavy rain causing localized flooding,” said the Southern Hydrometeorological Station.

Thunderstorms in the Southern region are likely to continue for many days to come (rain will be concentrated in the afternoon and evening).
