From the night of December 3 to the morning of December 4, many communes in the eastern region of Lam Dong province experienced heavy rain, along with the release of floodwaters from some irrigation reservoirs, causing these areas to be flooded, with many places being flooded more than 2 meters deep.
According to records, Ham Thuan Bac commune has more than 300 houses flooded , damaging many people's properties. Many roads in Phu Dien, Dan Tri, Dan Hoa villages, National Highway 28 were damaged. In addition, hundreds of hectares of agricultural production were damaged.
Many areas of Lam Giao village (Ham Thuan commune), Hong Son commune (section across National Highway 1), and Lien Huong commune were heavily flooded. The strong water flow from upstream also swept away many fishing boats and baskets anchored at Lien Huong port.


According to Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Limited Liability Company (Company), starting from 6:00 a.m. on December 4, Song Quao Lake (Ham Thuan Bac Commune) will discharge floodwater with a flow rate of 350 to 500m³/second, depending on the amount of water in the lake and the downstream situation.

Previously, at 4:30 a.m. the same day, Long Song Lake (Tuy Phong commune) also discharged flood water with a flow rate of 1,200 m³/s and is expected to continue to increase the discharge rate depending on the amount of water in the lake.
Song Luy Lake (Phan Son commune) discharges flood water at a flow rate of 100 to 150 m³/s and will continue to adjust depending on the amount of water in the lake.
