VIDEO : Close-up view of My Dinh Stadium as the grass is being dug up. Since its opening in 2003 (for the 22nd SEA Games), after many years of operation, the old grass and degraded soil have now been removed. This is a decisive step to thoroughly address the issue of pitch quality. Not only was the turf replaced, but the foundation work was also completely redone. This was done to ensure good drainage and create a pitch surface that meets international standards.
The foundation is currently under construction.
Bulldozers level and flatten the newly formed layer of sand. This is a crucial step in creating a uniform and stable foundation.
The drainage system has also been renovated. The irrigation system has been completely replaced with a modern, world-class system. This is a key factor in maintaining the quality of the grass and ensuring it's ready for matches.
The My Dinh Stadium is undergoing a comprehensive renovation with a total cost of approximately 10 billion VND from the state budget. This amount will be allocated in two phases: the first phase, 8 billion VND, will be used to renovate the stadium's foundation, including digging deeper and completely rebuilding the entire base, expected to be completed by the end of this year. And the second phase, with a budget of 2 billion VND, will be dedicated to laying new turf. The renovation of My Dinh Stadium is not just a purely technical project, but also an investment in the future of Vietnamese football. Hopefully, with this comprehensive transformation, My Dinh Stadium will soon return to its fresh, modern appearance, ready to welcome major tournaments and become a source of pride for Vietnamese sports .
