On the afternoon of September 26th, the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board organized a consultation and networking event with travel businesses in the city to announce promotional programs and attract visitors to My Son (Thu Bon commune). In particular, they sought feedback on adjusting My Son entrance fees in the near future.

According to the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board, the entrance fee to the My Son temple complex has been in effect for over 10 years (since 2014). Specifically, the entrance fee for Vietnamese visitors is 100,000 VND/person, and for foreign visitors it is 150,000 VND/person (as issued by the former Quang Nam Provincial People's Council).

This ticket price includes: entrance fee (40,000 VND), service fee (60,000 VND) for Vietnamese visitors. Similarly, for foreign visitors, it includes an entrance fee of 40,000 VND and a service fee of 110,000 VND (transportation, security, environmental sanitation, Cham folk art performance, general management and operation...).

Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet, Deputy Director in charge of the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board, said that after 10 years of application, the ticket price is no longer appropriate as socio-economic conditions and costs for management, restoration, preservation of relics, and personnel have all changed to ensure product quality.

In addition, the unit also carries out tasks assigned by the State such as: paying taxes and fees, supporting local communities, investing in the preservation of landscapes and heritage sites, etc.

“Ten years ago, visitors to the My Son temple complex only needed about an hour, but now it has increased to over two hours, thanks to many attractive products and services such as: visiting the My Son Museum, electric shuttle service, experiencing Cham brocade weaving, Cham pottery making, conical hat making, traditional folk singing, and especially the Cham dance performance program with 7 shows a day…”

"For now, adjusting ticket prices for Vietnamese passengers to be on par with international passengers is appropriate and needs further study, with the possibility of raising them even higher. However, this must be done gradually, and will be implemented when the time is right," said Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet.

At the seminar, many business representatives argued that adjusting ticket prices upwards is necessary because the products and services at My Son are unique and attractive; furthermore, additional resources should be allocated to the My Son Management Board for reinvestment and development.

Mr. Le Tan Thanh Tung, Director of Vitraco Travel, acknowledged that compared to some tourist destinations in the Central region such as Hue or Phong Nha (Quang Tri), the price at My Son is too low, while the products and services are very diverse and unique, so increasing the ticket price is reasonable, and the company will support it. "I think the price should be increased uniformly to 200,000 VND per person," Mr. Thanh Tung suggested.

On this occasion, the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board also announced a promotional program with various packages for travel companies, tour groups, students, etc., at different levels depending on the time of year.

Over the first nine months of 2025, the total number of visitors to My Son is estimated to...
The number of visitors reached over 353,000, an increase of 4.2% compared to the same period last year. Of these, foreign visitors were estimated at nearly 317,000, an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year, and Vietnamese visitors were estimated at over 36,000. Total revenue reached over 57 billion VND (including over 51 billion VND from ticket sales, over 5.7 billion VND from sales services, and 178 million VND from tour guide services).
