The 2025-2026 school year holds special significance as it marks the first time the Ministry of Education and Training has organized a nationwide opening ceremony combined with the program commemorating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the National Ministry of Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training).
From early morning, in schools from the plains to the mountains, more than 700,000 students and thousands of university students, all in neat uniforms, gathered, ready for the nationwide celebration of the new school year. This year's opening ceremony is even more meaningful for students in the first and last grades, such as grades 1, 6, 10, 9, and 12, who received the flag-raising ceremony and immersed themselves in the sacred atmosphere of the opening ceremony at their new schools.

In mountainous areas and ethnic minority communities, the atmosphere of the new school year's opening ceremony is equally vibrant. The bright smiles and eager eyes of the children on their way to school, along with their colorful traditional costumes, create a picture of the first day of school that is both simple and full of color and emotion.

Cu Pui II Primary School (Cu Pui commune) is one of the schools located in a remote area of the province. The school has three satellite campuses and one main campus with 1,131 students. Due to the remote location of the campuses, on the morning of September 4th, the school held the opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year for 201 students at the Ea Rok campus first. On the morning of September 5th, the school held the opening ceremony for the two satellite campuses and the main campus, while students at the Ea Rok campus attended the ceremony online in their classrooms via television screens.

Dinh Nup Ethnic Boarding School (Phu Mo commune) has 197 students from grades 6 to 9, including one Kinh student and the rest are ethnic minority students. Although many students live up to 8km from the school, on the morning of September 5th, they arrived very early and in large numbers to attend the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year. According to Mr. Do Thanh Vinh, Principal of Dinh Nup Ethnic Boarding School, this year's opening ceremony was simple but fully followed the program guidelines of the Department of Education and Training. From 7:00 to 7:50, in addition to the flag-raising ceremony and welcoming the grade 6 students, the school coordinated with benefactors to distribute gifts to disadvantaged students. Afterwards, all teachers and students participated in the online opening ceremony of the Ministry of Education and Training and the 80th anniversary celebration of the National Ministry of Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training) via television.

The 2025-2026 school year is also a special year following the province's merger. Students from the eastern part of the province, who moved to the western part for work and study with their parents, are being welcomed and encouraged by the schools. This helps them stabilize their emotions, quickly integrate into the new learning environment, and enthusiastically attend the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year with their friends.
At the opening ceremony of the new school year, the Ministry of Education and Training stated that, in the past 80 years, as if by a miracle, from a context where 95% of the population was illiterate, the intellectual class was sparse, the number of higher education institutions could be counted on one hand, and after many years of war… the whole country has now completed universal education from kindergarten (ages 5) to the end of lower secondary school.
