On the morning of January 10th, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang province, the 5th Naval Region held its 2024 Technical Work Conference. Rear Admiral Nguyen Duy Ty, Commander of the Region, attended and directed the conference. Also present was Rear Admiral Nguyen Huu Thoan, Political Commissar of the Region.
In 2023, the engineering branch of the 5th Naval Region closely followed the mission situation, ensuring the full, timely, and synchronized supply of ships, vehicles, weapons, and equipment to serve training, exercises, combat readiness, and other activities of the Region; coordinating closely with agencies and units to recover, transfer, receive, train, and put into use technical equipment in accordance with regulations, ensuring absolute safety.
The region has effectively applied information technology and military science and technology in operational management and technical support; maintained and successfully carried out the work of storing, preserving, and maintaining weapons and equipment; and proactively inspected, reviewed, and repaired damaged technical equipment according to the assigned levels. In particular, many difficult items with high technological content have been surveyed and repaired, saving the unit more than 1.5 billion VND.
At the conference, delegates discussed and further clarified the outstanding achievements made, while also proposing many solutions to improve the quality and efficiency of technical work at the unit in the future.
Speaking at the conference, Rear Admiral Nguyen Duy Ty acknowledged and commended the technical work results of the agencies and units in 2023. The Regional Commander requested that Party committees, commanders, and technical agencies at all levels continue to thoroughly understand and implement technical work effectively, in line with the situation, mission requirements, and organizational structure of the units.
The entire region is focused on improving the quality of establishing a standardized technical system and mastering weapons and technical equipment. This includes prioritizing the effective training, education, and professional development of officers and personnel in the technical field; organizing the maintenance, repair, and management of weapons and equipment strictly and in accordance with regulations; strengthening discipline and order in technical work; and effectively promoting and encouraging officers and soldiers to effectively implement the movement to develop technical innovations and improvements, contributing to improving the quality of training and combat readiness of the units…
