Admiring the monument "The Ship Gathering to the North" nearing completion

In late August, at the Memorial Area project for the people, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North (Quang Tien ward, Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province), the construction unit was rushing to complete the monument "The Ship Relocating to the North".

According to information from the Propaganda Department of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, this is the area where a series of events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the regrouping of people, cadres, and soldiers from the South to the North are scheduled to take place on the evening of September 1st.

The "Ship Gathering in the North" monument is part of subdivision A of the project commemorating the people, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who gathered in the North. Construction began in August 2022, with a budget of approximately 80 billion VND from the Thanh Hoa provincial budget and private contributions.

According to the design, the ship is made of reinforced concrete, with an arch-shaped relief made of granite blocks. In addition, there is a retaining wall to protect the monument and other auxiliary structures.

According to observations by a Dan Tri reporter, the arch-shaped relief sculpture, made of granite blocks, is currently under construction.

The construction team is rushing to complete the steps and stone cladding surrounding the relief sculpture.

Next to the bas-relief are large stone statues depicting the activities of the people, cadres, and soldiers from the South as they moved to Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province.

The front of the ship features large, sculpted stone blocks depicting powerful waves crashing against its hull.

The ship's deck is fitted with railings so that tourists and locals can stand and admire the scenery.

The interior of the ship is designed with stairs for access. The area inside the monument will be arranged as a miniature museum featuring collected artifacts and replicas of the interiors of ships from Poland, the former Soviet Union, and other countries.

Outside the monument grounds, a pier and a recreational area for sightseeing have been designed.

The road connecting the Nam Song Ma Boulevard, which is over 1km long, to the monument area has been completed.

According to the plan, the inauguration ceremony for the Memorial Area for the people, cadres, soldiers, and students from the South who relocated to the North will take place on October 27th.

In addition to the inauguration ceremony and live television broadcast, in late September and early October, Thanh Hoa province will also organize a scientific conference and a ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the relocation of people, cadres, and soldiers from the South to the North.
