Sacombank is the only bank honored for excellent digital transformation at ABA 2024

This is a prestigious regional ASEAN award held annually since 2007 to honor businesses with outstanding achievements and contributions to the region's development. Recently, within the framework of the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, held concurrently with the 44th ASEAN Summit in Laos, Ho Chi Minh City Development Commercial Bank ( Sacombank ) was the only Vietnamese bank to be named by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) at the ASEAN Business Awards 2024 (ABA 2024) - Digital Transformation category. Sacombank is the only Vietnamese bank to be recognized by ASEAN BAC at the ASEAN Business Awards 2024 - Digital Transformation category. ABA 2024 focuses on priority areas for integration: Agriculture , Energy, Food & Beverage, Digital Transformation, Infrastructure, Tourism & Travel, Healthcare, Transportation & Logistics, Education… Among these, the Digital Transformation award recognizes businesses with strong digital transformation capabilities, bringing about breakthrough changes in operations and customer experience. This award acknowledges Sacombank's long-term digital transformation journey from its inception, aiming to create a seamless and consistent digital journey for customers, addressing all financial needs quickly and conveniently. For example, Sacombank has always been at the forefront of deploying modern, diverse, and convenient products and services such as: the Sacombank Pay digital banking application integrating all financial services; eKYC technology for opening accounts/payment cards and virtual credit cards in just 5 seconds; Sacombank offers contactless payment connectivity with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and Garmin Pay; QR code payments, money transfers, and quick withdrawals domestically and in three countries: Thailand, South Korea, and Cambodia. To enhance connectivity and customer experience, Sacombank has also launched a new generation Contact Center platform integrated with AI, operating 24/7 across multiple channels to ensure prompt customer service; introduced smart teller machines (STMs), and is moving towards establishing digital transaction points, aiming to provide customers with access to the newest and most modern financial technologies. This digitalization in business operations has made Sacombank a highly attractive brand. Currently, the bank boasts a customer base of nearly 19 million individuals and businesses, with 67% of transactions conducted digitally. The number of transactions conducted through Sacombank's digital channels has grown nearly sixfold since 2018, reaching 508 million transactions in 2023. In addition, Sacombank has continuously digitized its operational systems to improve labor efficiency. Recently, the bank officially implemented a digitalized business process platform across all of its more than 540 transaction points nationwide. This platform helps to convert most manual operations to automation; reduce data errors; shorten transaction completion time by 60%; and reduce operating costs. These strong digital transformation achievements have also brought Sacombank a series of prestigious awards such as: “Most Innovative Retail Bank in Vietnam 2024” and “Most Innovative Digital Bank in Vietnam 2024” selected by International Business Magazine (IBM).
