(QNO) - This morning, January 8, the Provincial Inspectorate held a conference to summarize the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Quang attended the conference.

The conference assessed that in 2023, the entire provincial Inspectorate focused on synchronously and effectively implementing inspection work, receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations, and preventing corruption and negativity in accordance with the direction of the Government Inspectorate and the direction of the Provincial People's Committee.
In addition to the tasks assigned according to the plan from the beginning of the year, many tasks and unexpected inspections arose during the reporting period, but the Provincial Inspectorate and the entire industry have strived to successfully complete the tasks. Through inspection activities, violations in money increased by 33.5%, and recommendations to recover to the state budget increased by 69.1% compared to the same period in 2022.

The work of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations has received attention and focus from units and localities; 75.6% of complaints and denunciations under their authority have been resolved completely; continuing to inspect, review and resolve complaints and denunciations involving large numbers of people, complicated and prolonged according to the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and Government Inspectorate.
Regarding anti-corruption work, according to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Chief Inspector of the province, the whole province implements regulations on controlling assets and income of people with positions and powers to ensure compliance with regulations. The results of asset and income declaration in 2023 are 73 people (asset and income declaration for personnel work); 69/69 cases subject to asset and income declaration were verified and verification conclusions were issued according to regulations.
“The number of corruption cases discovered through inspection activities is 1 case; 1 person, a deputy head, was disciplined (warned) due to lack of responsibility for corruption,” said Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung.

Assessing the results achieved, Chief Inspector of the province Nguyen Duc Tien also pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in the inspection work in 2023. In particular, there was an inspection that was implemented slowly compared to the planned period and the progress was not guaranteed according to the set plan.
Some inspections conducted by localities under the authorization of the Provincial People's Committee are of limited quality and take longer than prescribed. The rate of settlement of complaints and denunciations under its authority has increased compared to the same period last year but is still low, not reaching the set target; some complaints are still resolved slowly, mainly related to the land sector.
Regarding the tasks for 2024, Chief Inspector of the province Nguyen Duc Tien emphasized that the entire sector will implement the 2024 Inspection Plan approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2685/QD-UBND dated December 14, 2023; surprise inspections under the direction of the Government Inspectorate, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Heads of departments, branches, Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities.
In the work of receiving people, handling complaints and denunciations, we are determined to promptly, legally and practically resolve complaints and denunciations under our authority right from the moment they arise at the grassroots level, striving to achieve a rate of over 85%; well implement decisions on handling complaints and denunciations that have come into legal effect, striving to achieve a rate of over 90%.

“In anti-corruption work, the whole sector has well implemented the coordination regulations between agencies with the function of controlling assets and income in the province to well perform the work of controlling and verifying assets and income of people with positions and powers according to the guidance and direction of the Government Inspectorate.
Focus on monitoring and evaluating anti-corruption and negative work at units and localities; well implement the assessment of anti-corruption at the provincial level in 2023 according to the direction of the Government Inspectorate and the conclusions and directions of the Central Government, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on anti-corruption and negative work in 2024.
