According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, various weather patterns will appear over the sea and land on August 11th, both day and night.
Be prepared for flash floods and landslides in 3 northern mountainous provinces.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from 4:40 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. on August 11, the provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien and Tuyen Quang will continue to have rain with the accumulated amount in Dien Bien and Tuyen Quang provinces generally ranging from 10-30mm, some places over 50mm, Lai Chau province generally ranging from 20-40mm, some places over 70mm.
There is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes in many communes/wards: Hua Bum, Khun Ha, Muong Mo, Nam Cuoi, Nam Ma, Pu Sam Cap; Binh Lu, Bum To, Hong Thu, Nam Tam, Tan Phong Ward, Phong Tho, Ta Tong, Tan Uyen, Tua Sin Chai ( Lai Chau province);
Sin Chai, Sinh Phinh, Tua Thanh; Muong Toong, Nam Ke, Quang Lam, Tua Chua (Dien Bien province);
Ho Thau, Hoang Su Phi, Po Ly Ngai, Trung Thinh, Xin Man; Ban May; Nam Dan, Nam Dich, Pa Vay Su, Thang Tin, Thong Nguyen, Tien Nguyen ( Tuyen Quang province)
Warning level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, land subsidence due to heavy rain or level 1 flow.
Flash floods and landslides can have very serious impacts on the environment, threatening people's lives; causing localized traffic congestion, affecting the movement of vehicles; destroying public and economic infrastructure, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.
The Hydrometeorological Agency recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to have prevention and response measures.
From 0:00 to 3:00 on August 11, there was rain in Lai Chau, Dien Bien and Tuyen Quang provinces, some places had moderate to heavy rain such as: Nam Han 2 (Lai Chau), 89.4mm, Pu Sam Cap (Lai Chau), 85.6mm, Binh Lu 1 (Lai Chau), 83.4mm; Tua Thang (Dien Bien) 82.8mm, Huoi So (Dien Bien) 48.8mm, Ho Thau 1 (Tuyen Quang) 114mm, Ho Thau 2 (Tuyen Quang) 93.8mm, Nam Dich (Tuyen Quang) 52.6mm...
Soil moisture models show that some areas in the above provinces are close to saturation (over 85%) or have reached saturation.
Many coastal areas have thunderstorms and strong winds.
At sea, according to information from the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, scattered showers and thunderstorms are currently occurring in the southern South China Sea (including the waters of the Truong Sa special administrative region), the sea area from Lam Dong to An Giang, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Forecast for the day and night of August 11, the North East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone) and South East Sea (including Truong Sa special zone), the North of Bac Bo Gulf, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind and waves 2.5-3m high during thunderstorms.
All vessels operating in these areas are at risk of being affected by cyclones, strong winds, and high waves.
