On the morning of September 17th, Associate Professor Dr. Tang Chi Thuong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , along with a delegation, visited the VNVC vaccination center in District 8 to inspect the vaccination work in the measles vaccination campaign. VNVC District 8 is one of 39 VNVC vaccination centers across the city participating in the measles vaccination campaign for children aged 1-10 years, which began on September 16th.
Here, Mr. Thuong highly appreciated VNVC's years of experience in implementing safe vaccination programs and its high-quality vaccination services. VNVC's active support will contribute to the success of the city's measles vaccination campaign.
According to Mr. Thuong, VNVC has modern, clean facilities, and especially a safe vaccination process that adheres to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health . VNVC has a good screening and emergency treatment process after vaccination, and people can go to centers like VNVC for safe vaccination.
Associate Professor Dr. Tang Chi Thuong (front row, second from the left) visited and supervised the implementation of the free measles vaccination campaign for children aged 1-10 years on the morning of September 17th at VNVC District 8 (Ho Chi Minh City).
Dr. Bach Thi Chinh, Medical Director of the VNVC Vaccination System, said that on the first day of VNVC's measles vaccination campaign in Ho Chi Minh City, nearly 200 children received the free MRVAC measles vaccine, mainly in suburban districts such as District 12, Binh Tan, Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh, and Cu Chi…
Previously, from the beginning of September until now, 39 VNVC vaccination centers in Ho Chi Minh City have administered more than 30,000 doses of measles-preventive vaccine to children under 10 years old. This is a significant contribution to Ho Chi Minh City's campaign to control and repel the ongoing measles epidemic.
Besides the free measles vaccine, centers also note that parents are having their children vaccinated against other important diseases such as influenza, meningitis, chickenpox, pneumococcal disease, and hepatitis A and B. Currently, VNVC has many policies to support prices and offer interest-free "vaccinate now, pay later" options for up to 12 months to help people reduce their financial burden and prevent diseases in a timely manner.
VNVC deploys specialized refrigerated vehicles that meet GSP standards, acting as "mobile cold storage," to receive vaccines from medical centers in Ho Chi Minh City, ensuring vaccine quality and safety for children receiving vaccinations right from the start.
Bringing her 16-month-old son, Hoang Anh, to receive his first free measles vaccine shot, Ms. Tran Thi Thu (District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) said that both she and her husband are factory workers and work all day, so they hadn't had time to take their child for vaccinations. Hearing about the measles outbreak and seeing that the VNVC vaccination center near her home was offering free vaccinations, she immediately brought her son in.
"The vaccination site was only about a 5-minute walk away, the facility ensured safe vaccinations, the doctor examined the baby very thoroughly, and the nurse gently comforted the baby while administering the injection, so the baby was comfortable. Even though the vaccination was free, the center still provided attentive service like any other customer, so I felt very satisfied," Ms. Thu shared.
Hundreds of parents brought their children to VNVC's free measles vaccination points on September 16th to protect them from the disease.
With years of experience in vaccination and a leading, reputable vaccination system, along with a professional cold storage system, cold chain, and refrigerated transport vehicles, and nearly 2,000 doctors, nurses, and staff across 39 centers in Ho Chi Minh City, VNVC is currently the leading provider of free measles vaccinations for children aged 1-10 years, aiming to accelerate vaccination coverage. In particular, VNVC focuses on ensuring safe and highly effective measles prevention while also achieving vaccination coverage targets.
VNVC has invested heavily in a system of 4 main warehouses and nearly 200 cold storage facilities for vaccines that meet GSP standards according to international standards, along with rigorous quality control and monitoring systems.
In addition to providing free measles vaccinations, the system currently has nearly 200 vaccination centers nationwide and 39 centers in Ho Chi Minh City, all stocking measles vaccines along with many other important vaccines. Among them, the combined measles-mumps-rubella vaccine, Priorix (Belgium) and MMR II (USA), offers enhanced protection against multiple diseases with a single injection, saving costs and reducing the number of vaccinations required. It can be administered to children from 9 months of age and adults.
Dr. Chinh stated that in addition to supporting the measles vaccination campaign, VNVC is also striving to provide a full range of vaccines amidst the complex disease situation and the frequent rain and floods from now until the end of the year, which increase the risk of outbreaks of many diseases such as influenza, chickenpox, diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus…
The VNVC vaccination system currently has nearly 200 centers nationwide, with 4 main cold storage facilities and hundreds of GSP-certified central warehouses capable of storing 400 million vaccine doses simultaneously at a standard temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. VNVC always has a full range of new generation vaccines, imported officially, helping to prevent nearly 50 infectious diseases for children and adults.
VNVC standardizes the quality of vaccination services across all centers nationwide, ensuring safe and high-quality vaccinations, the professional skills of screening doctors and vaccination nurses, and the provision of fully equipped functional rooms, post-vaccination reaction treatment rooms, and a high-quality vaccine storage system at each vaccination center.
VNVC is a vaccination center with a hotline providing care and support, as well as consultation with doctors regarding post-vaccination reactions, for all people who need it.
