People's Artist Ngoc Giau: "Every day is Valentine's Day"
• Ms. Ngoc Giau, what helps you maintain a happy family life while your artistic career takes up all your time? What is your concept of Valentine's Day?
- People's Artist Ngoc Giau : I have a happy family thanks to my husband's caring hands. Since we started living together, he has been my diligent "secretary," taking care of my meals, sleep, and when I'm sick. Since retiring from the Tran Huu Trang Theater, he no longer participates in the band, even though he was a famous saxophone player with artist Viet Bang.
He has been very devoted to taking care of me. From the time we met and got married until now, we have always been faithful to each other, making family happiness our highest goal, and overcoming the difficulties on our artistic journey.
Especially now, as we enter old age with many illnesses, we have each other, always by our side, encouraging and comforting each other. I have no concept of Valentine's Day, because for me, as husband and wife, every day is Valentine's Day.

• Hello, artist Hoai Thanh. Do you have any secrets to prevent your wife from being jealous that you can share with other men on Valentine's Day?
- Artist Hoai Thanh : There's a saying, "All chili peppers are spicy!" However, as married artists, we choose to live honestly with each other. We share everything we think. So all worries and love become trust for both of us. During tours far from home, one year, right around Valentine's Day, I was performing in Australia. I missed my wife so much that I immediately called home and asked my son, Hoai Anh Kiet, to order a bouquet of roses to give to her.
- Artist Do Quyen: He said the golden rose proves the sincerity of both the giver and the receiver. I love him very much. I've loved him since we were classmates in the vocational training class of People's Artist Phung Ha. We were apart for 10 years before reuniting. We recently held a "reunion ceremony" to celebrate our 45th anniversary.
That number speaks volumes, proving our love. This year on February 14th, I hope he will give his wife 45 yellow roses, symbolizing 45 years of happy married life.

• Hi everyone, what do you usually do on Valentine's Day to express your love?
- Artist Le Loc : We are very practical. We work together at Hong Van's theater, so on February 14th, we usually spend time together because we perform 2 to 3 shows all day. A little bit of care for each other is enough to show our affection. That includes taking care of each other's costumes before going on stage, preparing lunch and dinner for each other, and driving each other home after the show ends.
- Artist Tuan Dung : Le Loc often gives me feedback on my roles, and we both consider our profession important, so we work together to cultivate a strong work ethic. This year I am very happy because Hong Van's theater has many great plays that have been well-received by the audience.
After the musical "The Crane's Wing," we will continue to look forward to new roles. Society has honored artists who live well with their art, wholeheartedly creating valuable works, and we are conscious of the need to live up to that trust and affection.

• Every time he goes on tour, his wife is always there, worrying and taking care of everything so he can get into character. What gift will he give his wife this year on Valentine's Day?
- Artist Chi Cuong : I always say that if I didn't have my wife in this life, I couldn't complete my roles. Hong Lan is meticulous in everything, so she takes very good care of me during performances. Because we mostly perform period plays, Hong Lan worries about every detail so that I can embody the character really well.
- Artist Hong Lan : For many years, the most meaningful gift on Valentine's Day has been the shared dedication to art. Besides that, being involved with the White Orchid Theater Club founded by the renowned singer Ut Bach Lan, bringing charitable gifts to the poor through temples in the southern provinces and cities, we consider that a great source of happiness for our artist family.

• At home, both parents are singers, so who is in charge and who is responsible for raising the children?
- Singer Cam Van : No one is the boss; both of us are responsible for guiding our children to live right and do their jobs well. We are both always conscious of raising our children so that they don't become dependent on their parents. Since our daughter followed in her parents' footsteps as a singer, we have to mold her along the artistic path, but based on her own abilities, which is very difficult. We were very afraid that the spotlight of being parents would put pressure on her, but thankfully, Ce Ce Truong hasn't been affected by that, and today she is loved by the audience.

• 2023 was a very successful year for Thanh Duy. Besides his charming role in the musical "Bong Canh Co" at Hong Van's theater, he also appeared at the 29th Mai Vang Awards Ceremony - 2023 of Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper with the song "Nang Xuan," performing alongside artists Binh Tinh and Huynh Quy. Kha Ly has always been by his side throughout his career. His Valentine's Day this year must be different from previous years, right?
- Actor Thanh Duy : I consider every day Valentine's Day. I dedicate everything I've achieved to my wife. Because without her, I wouldn't have the success I have today. What makes me happy is that this year's February 14th will be different from previous years because we'll be working on many projects together. This marks a turning point after a period of hard work in our careers, allowing us to portray more compelling roles and create more beautiful artistic works. Kha Ly has encouraged me and given me the strength to pursue my ambitions.

- Meritorious Artist Le Tu: I didn't wait for Valentine's Day to tell my wife this: without her support, it would be difficult for me to achieve my dreams. For me, the bond between husband and wife must be nurtured regularly to overcome life's hardships.
The acting profession is facing many difficulties, especially in the Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) stage. For many years, if it weren't for my wife's sacrifices and her care for the family, I would hardly have been able to dedicate myself to creating art with peace of mind.
