Known and appreciated by the public as the music producer behind the success of a series of songs: "Cutting in Two the Sorrow," "Above the Upper Floor," "Turn On the Love," "Tears of Luu Ly," etc. , the journey of pursuing his passion of Nguyen Huy Hoang Hiep - also known by his stage name Drum7 (born in 1992, from Cam Xuyen town, Cam Xuyen district) - is an inspiring story for young people today.

Perhaps the most surprising thing about Hoang Hiep is that he has never received any formal musical training. Despite his passion for the arts, he is actually a law graduate from the University of Law (Hue University) in 2014. He also had a job in his hometown before moving to Ho Chi Minh City to pursue his career in early 2019.

Their passion motivated Drum7 to independently research and learn about music production.

Sharing his decision, Drum7 said: “Since my university days, I have been passionate about music and art, actively participating in clubs and cultural and artistic activities. That has also motivated me to learn more about music. All the knowledge about harmony, arrangement, songwriting... I learned by searching for materials and self-studying on YouTube, Google, and foreign forums. When I felt I had accumulated the necessary knowledge, I decided to pursue my passion.”

Starting a new life in Ho Chi Minh City also allowed him to freely pursue his passion. Constantly learning from colleagues and always being meticulous in every product is how Hoang Hiep laid the first bricks for his career.

In 2020, Drum7 achieved success with their first major project - the song "Lazy to Love" by singer Bao Anh. Following that, they had the opportunity to work with Tang Duy Tan and reaped many consecutive successful projects, receiving positive feedback from audiences both domestically and internationally.

To date, producer Drum7 has become a name that receives much attention from Vietnamese music listeners and is trusted by many singers and songwriters.

Despite being far from home and achieving success, Hoang Hiep always keeps his heart set on his hometown of Ha Tinh .

“Back when I was in my hometown, like many other young people, I used to withdraw into myself. It wasn't until I found a suitable environment, where I no longer feared the scrutiny and judgment of those around me, that I was able to fully develop my abilities and creativity.”

"That's also the advice I want to give to young people who love music, especially young people in Ha Tinh: be more confident and dynamic, let go of your ego to do what you like. Besides that, find suitable venues and environments that match your talent, find a mentor and encouragement. That way, you will soon achieve your own success," Hoang Hiep shared.

Speaking about his hometown of Ha Tinh, the young man in his 20s also confided: "In the future, when I have a solid foundation, I will aim to create community music. That's when I can incorporate Ha Tinh's musical elements into my music products to make practical contributions to society, help improve lives, and spread a positive image of the land, culture, and people of my hometown, Ha Tinh."
