Major contractor digs tunnel, opens highway

“Everyone is focusing on the construction of the following items: 2 tunnel branches through the mountain, access roads, bridge bored pile construction, girder casting… This is an extremely difficult project, which the people and local authorities have been waiting for for many years.

"The staff, engineers and workers of Deo Ca Group always take advantage of every hour, encouraging each other to work with the determination to bring the project to the finish line on time," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan, Director of Dong Dang - Tra Linh Project Management Board.

In the exciting atmosphere when the first layer of asphalt concrete construction test results were accepted and approved by the investor and consultant, right on the occasion of September 2nd holiday, thousands of workers of Deo Ca Group at the XL01 package of the expressway project, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section, stayed at the construction site to perform the asphalt concrete project on a large scale.

Deo Ca Group workers worked through the night to speed up construction progress on the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway section.

Mr. Tran Van Chi, Executive Director of the XL01 package, said that at the construction site, Deo Ca Group is mobilizing 3 asphalt concrete paving systems, each consisting of a paver, four rollers, 30 asphalt concrete transport trucks, and dozens of engineers and workers working continuously to ensure progress.

“Determining that the remaining workload is very large, and the construction area is about to enter the rainy season, the contractor has encouraged staff and workers to be on duty 100% and work overtime during holidays to take full advantage of favorable weather days to construct important items.

"The treatment for workers is guaranteed to be appropriate to their labor with a salary of 300% compared to normal days," Mr. Chi shared.

Also on this occasion, the Management Board of the XL01 package of the Chi Thanh - Van Phong project arranged 50 workers to be on duty day and night at the construction site to ensure that the construction progress is not interrupted.

According to Mr. Truong Cong Dat, Director of the XL1 Package Management Board, at the Chi Thanh - Van Phong project, construction continues to face difficulties due to complicated geological conditions. However, engineers and workers still uphold the spirit of overcoming challenges to increase production.

“Up to now, within the scope of Deo Ca Group's construction, the completed output has reached nearly 56% of the contract value, exceeding the plan by 8%,” said Mr. Dat.

Racing against the weather, nearly 80 engineers and workers of the XL1 package of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway are also busy working, speeding up the progress of the projects: Phuong Hoang tunnel, Song Cho bridge and Cua Tay bridge.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Chung, Commander of Phuong Hoang Tunnel, said that even though it was a holiday, officers, engineers, and workers of Deo Ca Group still maintained a serious and urgent working spirit.

As for the Phoenix Tunnel project - the longest road tunnel on the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway, the current progress of digging the left and right tunnel branches has reached 160m and 121m respectively. The target is to open the tunnel by December 2025, 6 months ahead of the overall project schedule.

Meanwhile, at the XL24 package of the Ha Giang - Tuyen Quang expressway project, checking the progress of the packages, Mr. Nguyen Thien Tuyen, Director of the Traffic Project Management Board of Tuyen Quang province, highly appreciated the proactive spirit of the contractor in solving difficulties and the enthusiasm of the engineers and workers who put aside the joy of family reunion to stay at the construction site to work during the holidays.

It is known that, to ensure the project's progress, Deo Ca Group has established construction command boards at the bridge points, proactively coordinating machinery, equipment and personnel to serve the construction at the locations where the site has been handed over.

The goal in 2025 is that all 20 bridges on the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway will be completed by Deo Ca.
