Many directors and deputy directors of major hospitals are leaders of the University of Health Sciences.

Attending the ceremony were Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Director of VNU-HCM.

At the ceremony, Dr. Le Thi Anh Tram, Head of the Organization and Personnel Department, announced the decision of the Director of VNU-HCM on appointing Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Thanh Toan, Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Hospital, concurrently holding the position of Vice Rector of the University of Health Sciences .

Bui Hong Nghia, Head of the Organization and Administration Department of the University of Health Sciences , announced the decision of the Rector of the University of Health Sciences on the appointment and assignment of duties of Head and Deputy Head of Departments of the Faculty of the University.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan presented the decision to assign tasks to Dr. Nguyen Quoc Binh, Deputy Director of Cho Ray Hospital.

Accordingly, the Rector of the University of Health Sciences has assigned Dr. Nguyen Quoc Binh, Deputy Director of Cho Ray Hospital, to hold the position of Head of the Department of Pharmacology - Clinical Pharmacy under the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Director of Gia Dinh People's Hospital, to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Medicine under the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Le Tran Quang Minh, Director of the Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat under the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Mai Phan Tuong Anh, Deputy Director of Gia Dinh People's Hospital, to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Surgery under the Faculty of Medicine.

In his speech directing and assigning tasks, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of VNU-HCM, said that the University of Health Sciences is facing many difficulties and challenges, including a small workforce; slow integration of new science and technology into the training program; no practice hospital; need to train graduates who are both bright in medical ethics and good in medical skills; there is a gap in training in medicine and pharmacy between universities.

"In the development strategy of the University of Health Sciences, one of the breakthrough solutions to overcome these difficulties is to focus on postgraduate training. This requires close cooperation between the school and the hospital in training and scientific research. Therefore, the University of Health Sciences has invited many good doctors and leading experts to take charge of the departments," said Mr. Quan.

With the appointed personnel, Mr. Quan emphasized that he hopes this will be a resource connecting the University with hospitals and outside businesses and a focal point for exchange so that VNU-HCM can build VNU-HCM Hospital, which is both a place for students to practice and a place for people to be treated; helping the University of Health Sciences to have new and strong developments in the future.

In his acceptance speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Thanh Toan - Vice Principal said that he will strive to follow in the footsteps of previous generations to continue strengthening the relationship between the institute and the school in order to train future generations of physicians.
