To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) , the Nghi Son Town Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee have carried out many practical activities, visiting, giving gifts, and expressing gratitude to wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs, civilian workers on the front lines, youth volunteers, and soldiers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
Within the town's boundaries, there are 2 surviving war invalids who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign; 44 martyrs whose ancestors are worshipped and are receiving memorial benefits; and 118 surviving individuals who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign, including: 64 Dien Bien Phu soldiers; 11 civilian laborers on the front lines; and 43 volunteer youth.

Comrade Truong Ba Duyen, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Nghi Son Town Party Committee, visited and presented gifts to the relatives of martyrs in Xuan Lam ward.
In addition to the 118 gifts worth 118 million VND from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and the 155 gifts worth 155 million VND from the province, the Town Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Town Fatherland Front Committee established 14 working groups led by members of the Town Party Committee Standing Committee and members of the Town Party Committee's Executive Committee to visit and present gifts to wounded soldiers and families of martyrs who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign in the communes and wards, with 164 gifts worth over 66 million VND.

Comrade Nguyen The Anh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghi Son town, offered incense and paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Dien Bien Phu campaign in Nguyen Binh ward.
The town also directed communes and wards to organize visits and present gifts from the town to express gratitude to the surviving Dien Bien Phu soldiers, civilian workers on the front lines, and volunteer youth who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
In addition, the town has directed departments, agencies, and units to strengthen the organization of activities to educate the younger generation about patriotic and revolutionary traditions through practical and meaningful actions; commending exemplary young people who are children of wounded soldiers and relatives of martyrs in our nation's long-term resistance war against the French in the fields of study, work, and production. It has also directed grassroots youth organizations to mobilize cadres, members, young people, and students to clean up the environment and beautify the town's Martyrs' Cemetery and the memorials in the communes and wards.

The Veterans Association of the town, in coordination with the Youth Union and Hai Hoa Secondary School, organized a program to promote traditions and share historical stories in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory.
On this occasion, 31 communes and wards in the town have been organizing visits and gift-giving to wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, Dien Bien Phu soldiers, civilian workers on the front lines, and youth volunteers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign; laying flowers and offering incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at memorial sites. At the same time, they are effectively implementing preferential policies and benefits for those who have contributed to the revolution in the area. They are also coordinating with political and social organizations and businesses to mobilize officials, civil servants, and the people to support the "Gratitude and Repayment" fund.
