BTO - Celebrating the Lunar New Year 2024 in Phan Thiet city ( Binh Thuan province ), locals and tourists alike should visit the Po Sah Inu Cham tower complex to enjoy a unique and colorful cultural and artistic program.
Taking place consecutively from the 2nd to the 6th day of the Lunar New Year (February 11-15, 2024), the cultural activities include performances of Cham folk art such as Saranai horn playing, Ghi Nang drumming, and traditional Cham dances at the main tower area of the monument, performed by Cham artisans.
Not only will visitors enjoy the beauty of traditional culture, but watching the show will also give them a chance to better understand the mystery and uniqueness of Cham folk art.
From the 2nd to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year (February 11-14), at the performance area, artisans will take turns showcasing traditional Cham brocade weaving, pottery making, and gingerbread making using traditional methods. Participating artisans come from various localities in the province, such as Bac Binh and Ham Thuan Bac districts. From the 2nd to the 8th day of the Lunar New Year (February 11-17), the performance area will also feature sand painting activities with the theme "Celebrating the Party - Celebrating the Spring of the Year of the Dragon".
From December 30, 2023 to February 29, 2024, a thematic photo exhibition titled "The Land and People of Binh Thuan" will be held at the Po Sah Inư Tower historical site. After enjoying the cultural and artistic activities, visitors can also visit the souvenir stalls selling items such as pottery, Cham brocade, Cham folk jewelry, and traditional cakes to choose as gifts for family and friends for the New Year.
Located on Ba Nai Hill (Phu Hai Ward), about 5km from the city center and on the road to Ham Tien - Mui Ne tourist area, the Po Sah Inu Tower complex also possesses many famous legends about its name, the mysterious nature of the Po Sah Inu tower complex, and its connection to the poetic love story of Han Mac Tu and Mong Cam. Visiting Po Sah Inu Tower during the spring and Tet holiday, tourists can enjoy fascinating folk cultural activities while learning about interesting stories associated with this cultural and historical site.
