According to Tuoi Tre Online, after the general parade on August 30th, many cafes in Hanoi continued to stay open and sell goods throughout the night on September 1st, ahead of the National Day celebrations.

A coffee shop that stays "awake" with the vibrant spirit of Hanoi.

Located on Son Tay Street near Tran Phu Street, where the Army, Self-Defense Militia, and Police (Line 1) marches through, the Tram coffee shop is always packed with customers these days.

Although the parade didn't pass right in front of the shop, it was still a popular choice for many people as a place to rest and recharge because it was conveniently located on the way to the parade viewing spot.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, owner of the Tram Cafe, decided to increase staff and operate the cafe throughout the night to serve customers watching the parade.

"From midnight onwards, I inform customers that there will be a surcharge of 30,000 VND on each drink bill. I will donate this money to a charity fund for children in mountainous areas, because every year our shop makes trips to the highlands to make bubble tea and award scholarships to underprivileged students there," Mr. Duc said.

According to the owner of the coffee shop, this area not only has Vietnamese customers waiting to watch the parade, but also many foreign tourists who are curious and join the crowd of "patriots".

"Many tourists ask me about events in their country and are amazed by the patriotism and national pride of the Vietnamese people. From that, I and the shop team have the opportunity to introduce the glorious history of our country to friends around the world ."

"Upon hearing those stories, many tourists decided to stay up all night with the Vietnamese people to watch the parade," Duc happily shared.

Also open all night, Laika Cafe, located on the shores of West Lake, was packed with people waiting outside and inside from the evening onwards. Prior to that, on August 30th, this cafe also attracted a large number of customers waiting overnight.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , many coffee shops not only did not increase their prices but also offered drinks to soldiers and volunteers serving at the grand ceremony.

From the evening of August 30th, Lac Cafe on Hoang Hoa Tham Street posted an announcement on its fanpage:
"It's raining and cold outside. If you haven't found a place to sit yet, have young children and can't find accommodation or hotels in the area, or if the soldiers on duty day and night need water or a restroom, please come to Lac!"

Mr. Le Duc Anh, owner of Lac Coffee shop, said that he was very upset when he saw some shops and parking areas around his shop charging high fees to the public.

Wishing to spread the spirit of patriotism and mutual support, he instructed all staff at the restaurant not to charge any extra fees for parking or seating for customers.

In the same spirit, Home Cafe, located right behind the Quan Ngua stadium, offers free drinks to soldiers and volunteers, and a 50% discount for senior citizens.

Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Duong, the owner of the restaurant, said that her family has had many generations serving in the military. The most valuable mementos in her family are the medals and decorations of her grandparents. Ms. Duong understands the contributions and sacrifices of the military.

Seeing the backs of soldiers in their sweat-drenched uniforms coming into the shop to buy water and meals for the soldiers, Ms. Duong instructed the staff not to collect any money.

On the night of August 30th, many people sat on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant waiting to watch the parade, and Ms. Duong opened the doors to welcome them inside. All 13 of the restaurant's employees worked all night.

"I simply thought: look at the red flag with the yellow star and ask yourself why you are standing here? Living in peace , in the development of the country, I also hope that young people, especially my children, understand the value of peace, are grateful for and appreciate what our grandparents, parents, and elders sacrificed and contributed to achieve it," said Ms. Duong emotionally.

Her family and the staff at the restaurant hope that more people will spread these good deeds and make small contributions to encourage the armed forces who are serving with dedication. She also hopes that many young people will spread these beautiful actions of the people of Hanoi.
