Many candidates who unfairly failed the university entrance exam have been accepted by schools.

On the afternoon of August 27, speaking with Tien Phong newspaper reporter, Le Hoai An (living in Hue City) happily said that he had received a notice from the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) confirming his admission to the school.

An is one of the candidates who was unfairly rejected, having all his wishes rejected, while he had enough points to pass the entrance exam, as reported by Tien Phong newspaper. Accordingly, this male student registered many wishes and was eligible to pass the fourth wish to the University of Education ( Hanoi National University).

However, due to a technical error in the virtual filtering process, An was notified that he had passed his third choice to Ho Chi Minh City University of Education even though he did not have enough points to pass.

This led to me passing the virtual entrance exam to an unqualified school and failing the application that I should have been admitted to.

"After many days of sleepless nights, I can breathe a sigh of relief," An said.

Like An, many candidates said they did not have enough points to be admitted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, but the school's system reported that they were admitted. According to regulations, candidates can only pass one choice. Therefore, they are not considered for the next choice even though they still have enough points to be admitted.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Education confirmed that this was a technical error. Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has sent a document requesting the Ministry of Education and Training to create conditions for candidates to continue the admission process and requested support from related universities.

"Parents and candidates will be properly resolved to ensure their legitimate rights," informed Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

A representative of Ho Chi Minh City Open University confirmed that they had sent a text message informing 18 students who had been admitted to the school, transferring from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. These were the students who were initially "failed" by the school because the system confirmed that they had passed their previous wish to enter Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

After confirming that this was a technical error, Ho Chi Minh City Open University accepted students into the majors of Psychology, Korean Language, Law, etc. Students were able to complete the admission procedures online at the school without needing to confirm on the Ministry's system.

Another school in Ho Chi Minh City that trains in the Pedagogy group also received a list of about 30 candidates in the above category. However, the school said it had to consider because if it accepted all of them, it would exceed its quota. Meanwhile, Pedagogy students are exempted from tuition fees and receive a monthly living allowance of 3.6 million VND.
