In the latest episode of the show "Newlywed Couple ," MC Quoc Thuan and Thanh Van listened to the story of a family from Hanoi : Tran Duy Thuan (25 years old, self-employed) and Nguyen Minh Chau (24 years old, self-employed).
The couple met when they were high school students, through social media, and had spoken a few times. After a dinner date, they talked more and started dating in 2020 (they first met in 2018).
When they first met, they both admitted that the other wasn't their type. Minh Châu said she preferred tall, fair-skinned men, the opposite of her current husband. Duy Thuần's preference was for a woman with a fuller figure, unlike his wife at the time who weighed only 40kg. Despite this, the groom's family still had a positive impression of the bride's family.

When they first met online, they often interacted and teased each other with messages. Duy Thuan even said, "Chau, do you have any friends you could introduce me to? But then, by chance, I ended up with you."
Minh Châu said that she had introduced her friend to her husband, but he didn't agree. Because he already had feelings for his wife, after talking more and getting to know each other better, Minh Châu and Duy Thuần began to develop romantic feelings.
Duy Thuần's family runs a peach tree cultivation business in a traditional craft village in Hanoi. He recounted that before winning over his future daughter, he first "wooed" his father-in-law. During Tet (Vietnamese New Year), Duy Thuần presented his father-in-law with a large peach tree, which helped him win him over.
After her parents approved of the young man, Minh Châu also accepted him. Her family added that while he wasn't her ideal type in terms of appearance, he possessed the personality she needed. Duy Thuần chose to confess his feelings over the phone because he didn't dare say it in front of his girlfriend.

When they first started dating, they broke up because they felt they didn't have enough time for each other. Back then, they were both still in school, so they separated for two months. After that, Duy Thuan's mother texted Minh Chau, inviting her to go get her hair done, as she had invited her before. Minh Chau thought her mother-in-law had forgotten and didn't think about it anymore.
On the 29th day of the Lunar New Year, her mother-in-law called, saying she would send Minh Châu the address so she could come over. The next day, Minh Châu went to the address and got her hair done with her mother-in-law. Taking advantage of the situation, Duy Thuần texted her, saying he was bringing a peach blossom tree as a gift for his father-in-law.
Minh Châu said she agreed to marry Duy Thuần because she found him sincere, genuine, and loving. After Minh Châu's younger brother passed away, Duy Thuần loved and cared for his wife even more. He wanted to make up for it with his love.
Duy Thuần further expressed that he enjoys having fun but still values and prioritizes his family. MC Thanh Vân commented that having Duy Thuần in Minh Châu's family is like having another son, compensating for a great loss and adding another loved one.

After two years of marriage, Duy Thuan said his wife talks too much and he wishes she would be less irritable with him and live more happily.
