TPO – Ahead of completion, workers on the 500kV circuit 3 power line construction site in Nghe An province are urgently pulling wires and installing equipment to hand over the project to the operation and management unit for energization.
The 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project from Quang Trach ( Quang Binh ) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) has a total length of nearly 520km, passing through 9 provinces. The project is invested by the Vietnam National Power Transmission Corporation. The entire line has 1,177 tower locations and 502 spans with a total investment of approximately 22,300 billion VND. After many months of construction, the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line through Nghe An province is gradually being completed. |
In Nghe An province, the project, approximately 100km long, includes 202 tower foundation locations and 85 corridor anchor points, passing through 6 districts and towns: Hoang Mai, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, and Nam Dan. |
This is a key, urgent project of paramount importance to national energy security. Along with the 500kV circuits 1 and 2, the completion of the 500kV circuit 3 will play a crucial role and have significant implications for supplying and supplementing electricity to the North. |
In the final days of the "final push" phase, workers on the 500kV circuit 3 power line construction sites in Nghe An are urgently pulling the span wires connecting the power poles. |
Teams of workers are working diligently to pull wires and install equipment on poles in order to complete the project as soon as possible. |
Coils of electrical cable are continuously transported to the base of utility poles for wiring. |
High above, workers had to hang precariously to do their jobs. Despite the scorching heat and the burning hot winds from Laos, the workers persevered at high altitudes to install power lines. |
Mr. Ha Dinh Huy (46 years old, from Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province; residing in Dien Bien province; a worker at Song Da 11 Company) said that the hot weather and strong winds in recent days have made the work of pulling wires and installing power lines difficult. However, with high determination, the workers are still working diligently to complete the project on schedule. |
The workers divided the tasks among different teams, working both at height and on the ground, so they had to communicate with each other via walkie-talkies. "We had to constantly look up to coordinate with the workers at the top of the pole to ensure everything was done correctly and accurately. On sunny days, looking up at the sky for even a short time would make our eyes water," shared Quàng Văn Quân (born in 1988, residing in Điện Biên province). |
The electrical cables are 2,000-2,400 meters long and weigh 5-6 tons, so workers have to use powerful winches to pull them. |
Sometimes, power cables get tangled in obstacles, and electricians have to grope their way through the forest to get them out of the way. |
After long hours of hard work, the workers take a break at the construction site. Some rest, while others use those few minutes to call home and check on their wives and children. |
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Deputy General Director of Song Da 11 Joint Stock Company, said that the company has mobilized more than 700 workers from various locations to Nghe An to work during the "final push" phase. To date, the company has basically completed the installation of fiber optic cables and lightning protection circuits on 65 power poles under its responsibility in Nghe An. Simultaneously, they are laying power lines. "We are striving to complete the power line installation by August 25th and energize and inaugurate the project before September 2nd, as requested by the Prime Minister," Mr. Dung said. |
Thanks to the high level of dedication from the workers, the power poles on the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line are gradually taking shape and nearing completion. |
