Mr. Tran Duc Thang was appointed Minister of Agriculture and Environment.

On the morning of October 25, the National Assembly voted to pass a resolution approving the appointment of Mr. Tran Duc Thang to the position of Minister of Agriculture and Environment.

After more than three months of being assigned the role of Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Mr. Tran Duc Thang has been approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as the Minister of Agriculture and Environment.

On the morning of October 25, the National Assembly held a separate meeting on personnel work under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man .

With 427 delegates participating in the vote (90.08% of the total number of delegates); of which 427 delegates voted in favor (90.08% of the total number of delegates and 100% of the delegates present), the National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the Prime Minister 's proposal to appoint Mr. Tran Duc Thang as Minister of Agriculture and Environment.

Mr. Tran Duc Thang, born in 1973, from Vinh Phuc province (now Phu Tho), is a doctor of economics. He once worked at the Ministry of Finance, then held the position of Director of the Department of State Asset Management, Ministry of Finance.

From 2018 to 2022, Mr. Thang worked at the Central Inspection Commission, holding the positions of Member of the Central Inspection Commission and then Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Commission.

In October 2022, Mr. Tran Duc Thang was transferred and appointed by the Politburo to the position of Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

From July 1, 2025, he was transferred, assigned, and appointed to the position of Permanent Deputy Chief Inspector of the Government Inspectorate.

On July 17, 2025, the Prime Minister transferred Mr. Tran Duc Thang to work at the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, appointing him as Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment, a position he holds to this day.
