Taking place over two days from October 25-26, 2025 at the SoiHub Open Innovation Center (Quang Trung Software City), the annual event series “Open Innovation Day (OID) 2025,” chaired by the National Agency for Startups and Technology Enterprises (NATEC) under the Ministry of Science and Technology , with the overarching theme “Technological Breakthroughs - Promoting Green & Digital Transformation,” promises to become a crucial networking hub within Vietnam's startup and innovation ecosystem.
Bringing together a large number of high-ranking leaders from state management agencies, leading economic corporations, international organizations, investment funds, research institutes, universities, and the start-up community, OID 2025 is expected to strongly promote in-depth dialogues and practical business connections.

Over the two days of the event, eight in-depth panel discussions were held, focusing on analyzing and resolving bottlenecks, while proposing breakthrough initiatives in key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, digital infrastructure (cloud computing, data centers), energy transition, new materials, and sustainable supply chains.
According to Samuel Ang, Advisor to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), “This was truly a fantastic event, where we witnessed the public and private sectors working together to address the major challenges facing Vietnam, particularly in the industrial sector. The event showcased many meaningful collaborative activities and in-depth exchanges among participants. I was especially impressed with today’s discussion sessions, where speakers shared valuable practical experiences and perspectives.”

Sharing the same view on the program's practicality, Ms. Tran Huong Giang, Head of the Testing Laboratory at UNDP Accelerator Lab Vietnam, said: “This year's program content is also highly practical. In my opinion, Open Innovation Day is a platform that provides applicable perspectives and solutions, thereby promoting cooperation among stakeholders and making a practical contribution to Vietnam's sustainable development.”
This observation further reinforces the value of OID, highlighting its focus not only on discussion but also on concrete actions and results. Throughout the event, alongside the discussion sessions, a variety of networking activities were implemented, such as Tech Showcase 2025 – showcasing exemplary technology solutions; OID.Match – an extended business networking session; and especially Executive Matchmaking, exclusively for senior leaders. A special highlight on the second day was the OID Lunch with its unique "four touch zones" model, creating a strategic networking space centered around the pillars: institutions - infrastructure, technology - people, market - investment, and public-private partnerships.

With the mission of creating an interdisciplinary platform connecting businesses, localities, start-ups, universities, and experts, OID 2025 is not only a testament to the rapid growth of the domestic innovation ecosystem, but also affirms Vietnam's determination to seize opportunities from the global technology wave, shaping a sustainable future based on science , technology, and innovation.
