Launching the "Hanoi Voice" Contest 2024

The contestants will go through 3 rounds: Preliminary, Semi-final and Final. The final round will take place from late November or early December 2024 with the 12 most outstanding voices, the contestants will perform 1 song with the theme of Hanoi and 1 song of their choice.

On the afternoon of November 11, in Hanoi, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports held a press conference about the "Hanoi Voice" Contest 2024. This is a cultural and artistic event held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) and 1014 years of Thang Long - Hanoi.

Speaking at the press conference, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Do Dinh Hong said that the "Hanoi Voice" contest, which started in 1997, not only sought out excellent singers, but also provided a starting point for great talents for the Vietnamese music industry.

According to Mr. Do Dinh Hong, many artists such as People's Artist Tan Minh, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan, singers Hong Nhung, My Linh, Tung Duong and many other famous artists have grown up from this Competition, becoming excellent singers of the capital's and the country's music.

The contest "Hanoi's Voice 2024" is for candidates aged 16-35, currently living, working and studying in Hanoi and some candidates have won high prizes in vocal competitions of some provinces and centrally run cities.

The contestants will go through 3 rounds: Preliminary round, semi-final round and final round. The preliminary round will take place from November 12 to 16, at Workers Theater (42 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi). In this round, the contestants will sing the registered song without the support of musical accompaniment, thereby expressing their voice, style and musical personality.

It is expected that the Organizing Committee will select 60 excellent candidates to continue competing in the semi-finals (from November 19-21), where the candidates will be supported by a professional orchestra.

The final round will be a performance night of the 12 most outstanding singers. The contestants will perform 1 song with the theme of Hanoi and 1 song of their own choice. The final night is scheduled to be held at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi) and will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television.

The Organizing Committee will award First, Second and Third prizes to outstanding contestants in three main music genres: chamber music, folk music and pop music. In addition, there will be additional prizes such as the contestant who sings best about Hanoi and the contestant who is most loved by the audience.
