Kinhtedothi - In 2024, under the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers," the youth of Hanoi successfully implemented all 10/10 annual work targets, including 2 targets completed and 8 targets exceeded.
On January 20th, the Hanoi Youth Union held a ceremony to summarize the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in the capital city in 2024, and to implement tasks for 2025; and to award prizes for journalistic works on the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in the capital city in 2024.
Attending the program were Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association; and Nguyen Van Phong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee.
Reporting on the results of activities in 2024, Hanoi Youth Union Secretary Chu Hong Minh stated that, under the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers," the youth of Hanoi successfully implemented all 10/10 annual work targets, with 2 targets completed and 8 targets exceeded. The entire Youth Union carried out 2,754 youth projects and activities with a total value of nearly 58 billion VND.
Notably, during the year, more than 1.6 million youth union members and young people participated in volunteer activities organized by the Youth Union and Youth Association. Particularly in the "Green Summer" campaign, with the ever-present spirit of "Three Ready," it attracted 339 teams and 16,031 volunteers, implemented in 31 provinces and cities.
Furthermore, the project "Digital Map of Red Addresses in Hanoi City" was honored to be selected by the Central Youth Union as a national outstanding project in 2024...
Speaking at the program, the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, Nguyen Minh Triet, praised the achievements and suggested that in 2025, the Hanoi Youth Union branches at all levels, as well as more than 3 million young people in the capital city, should concretize in a practical and creative way the theme of the 2025 work of the entire Youth Union: "Vietnamese youth are proud and steadfast in following the Party".
At the same time, it should be noted that the Hanoi City Youth Union branches at all levels need to select projects, tasks, and urgent, prominent issues in Hanoi to volunteer for and mobilize Youth Union members and young people to participate effectively in implementing programs and activities. In particular, they should continue to implement digital transformation in Youth Union activities across all areas of work; digital transformation in propaganda and education work, and in understanding the ideological developments, thoughts, and aspirations of Youth Union members and young people.
Delivering a keynote address at the conference, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, Nguyen Van Phong, acknowledged, commended, and congratulated the achievements of the Hanoi City Youth Union and affirmed that Hanoi's youth union members have made many important contributions to the overall comprehensive results of the Capital in 2024.
Emphasizing that 2025 is the final year of the term and will see Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 18th Hanoi City Party Congress, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee noted that 2025, the first year of the 14th Party Congress term, is identified as a milestone marking the country's entry into a new era, an era of national progress, with the goal of prosperous and strong development, a happy people, and the successful construction of socialism. Among the tasks set forth, the Hanoi City Youth Union needs to clearly understand its responsibilities in this new historical period.
According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, the Youth Union at all levels in the city needs to leverage the potential, creativity, strength, and responsibility of all young people in the new development phase, with many activities linked to the strengths of youth. In particular, there needs to be a breakthrough in the development of science and technology and innovation among the city's youth; widely disseminating youth projects and initiatives that demonstrate the responsibility and aspirations of young people towards the country and the capital city.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that in 2025, the task of the Youth Union organization is to attract young members, creating a favorable environment for youth to train and contribute to the common goal of building the Capital and the country. Therefore, the responsibility of the City Youth Union needs to be further enhanced; greater effort and determination are needed to create favorable conditions for the youth of Hanoi to contribute more and more effectively to the development of Hanoi in the new era - the era of prosperous and powerful development of the nation.
In recognition of the contributions of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi City over the past 25 years, the President of Vietnam has decided to award the Labor Order, Third Class, to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi City. The Hanoi City Youth Union is also honored to receive the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
