Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Phan Thien Dinh was elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City.

At the meeting, the Hue City People's Council elected Comrade Phan Thien Dinh (Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Hue City People's Council) as Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term with 44 out of 44 votes in favor.

Comrade Phan Thien Dinh affirmed in his speech that, with the responsibility entrusted to him as the head of the City People's Committee, he will continue to learn, inherit, and develop the valuable achievements and experiences of his predecessors. He pledged to dedicate all his abilities, intellect, and passion to working together with the City People's Committee to continue building a stronger, more efficient, and effective government system from the city level to the grassroots; strictly adhering to the leadership of the City Party Committee and the City People's Council; closely following and effectively implementing the Resolution of the City Party Congress; and promoting the spirit of unity, democracy, and collective intelligence to successfully complete tasks and make practical contributions to the construction and development of Hue City, a centrally-governed city, in the coming period.

Looking ahead, Comrade Phan Thien Dinh, together with the City People's Committee, will immediately implement the tasks and solutions in the remaining months to complete the socio-economic development plan for 2025 assigned by the City Party Committee and the City People's Council, focusing on achieving a GRDP growth rate of over 10%.

Comrade Phan Thien Dinh was born on December 10, 1971; his hometown is Thuan An ward (Hue city); his political theory level is Advanced; his educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor's degree in Economics, and a Bachelor's degree in Law.

Prior to being elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City, Comrade Phan Thien Dinh held the following positions: Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien Hue Province (now Hue City); Provincial Party Committee Member, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien Hue Province (now Hue City); Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province (now Hue City); Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hue City (Thua Thien Hue Province, now Hue City); Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of Thuan Hoa District Party Committee (Hue City). From July 2025 to October 2, 2025, he was a Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee and Head of the Economic and Budget Committee of the People's Council of Hue City. At the 17th Congress of the Hue City Party Committee from October 2-4, he was elected Deputy Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

At the meeting, delegates voted to approve the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City. Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong has been transferred and appointed by the Politburo to the position of Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
