Vice principal accused of altering academic records for ward official's child

On October 18, according to information from the People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward ( Quang Ninh Province), the ward received information about a leader of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School (Ha Lam Ward) being accused of editing the scores on the electronic transcript for the child of a ward official.

According to the complaint, the student's scores were said to have been adjusted from "weak" to "excellent" in many subjects, including Math, Natural Sciences , Information Technology and English.

A representative of the People's Committee of Ha Lam ward confirmed that they are checking, and emphasized that if there are any violations, it is the fault of the adults.

A source at the ward said that the content of the complaint mentioned the 2024-2025 school year, after the administrative unit arrangement and implementation of the 2-level government model, Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School was merged, the board of directors was completed, and the accused person is currently holding the position of vice principal. Before the arrangement, the ward had received feedback about this incident.

It is known that currently in Quang Ninh, the management of secondary schools has been decentralized to wards and communes. Teaching and assessment currently use electronic transcripts. All data entry and editing operations on the software leave a log, so verification will rely on system traces to clarify the responsibilities of related individuals.

While waiting for the official results, the Ha Lam ward authorities said they are coordinating with professional agencies to review records, compare original scores, grading logs, score entries and related records.
