Improve training quality, combat readiness
In early August, the border was drizzling, but the atmosphere on the training ground of Infantry Battalion 50 was still very exciting. The training topic was: "The infantry company received fire support from superiors to fight the enemy defending the mountainous forest area."
After receiving the order, the Command of Company 1 quickly deployed the plan and determined to fight. The order to be ready sounded, all officers and soldiers urgently approached the battlefield. With the siege tactics and effectively utilizing the supporting firepower from above, the soldiers quickly exhausted the enemy's strength and took control of the battlefield.

Lieutenant Le Tuan Vu, Deputy Captain of Company 1, said: “Presenting hypothetical situations for training helps officers and soldiers quickly grasp and adapt to combat conditions and military cooperation. At the same time, it strengthens their mettle and determination to complete assigned tasks.”
In order to improve overall quality and combat readiness, the Battalion has focused on increasing night training, physical training, and field trips combined with combat skills training.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Nam Trung - Battalion Commander - informed: "We identify training as the key solution for the unit to successfully complete its mission. The unit focuses on training so that soldiers can skillfully use weapons and equipment suitable for the terrain and climate conditions of the border area. In particular, they must know how to coordinate with friendly units, prevent and fight back effectively, and effectively implement the motto "concentrated firepower, dispersed weapons".
One of the key tasks of the Battalion is to train new soldiers. Accordingly, the results of the 2025 training inspection show that out of 13 contents, 3 contents were excellent and 10 contents were fair.
In addition, the Battalion also focuses on training political qualities, discipline, solidarity and basic military skills for new soldiers. Therefore, after completing the training course, the new soldiers assigned to the unit have mastered military, political, logistical, technical knowledge and are proficient in the use of infantry weapons.

Many effective emulation movements
In addition to training and combat readiness missions, Infantry Battalion 50 also regularly sends forces to support localities in building new rural areas, renovating mixed gardens, and helping people develop the economy ...
Lieutenant Colonel Phan Tuan Anh, Political Commissar of the Battalion, said: “We have identified helping people as a key political task. Therefore, from the beginning of the year, this content has been included in the operational plan. In addition to urgent tasks such as search and rescue, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, the unit also combines field trips with mass mobilization work, helping the people.”
The image of the officers and soldiers of the 50th Infantry Battalion has long been familiar to the people of Phu Thien and Kbang districts (old). In these two localities, officers and soldiers of the Battalion have helped relocate 200 houses from villages that are frequently flooded to new residential areas. Many new rural villages in the West of the province have been marked by the footprints of officers and soldiers of the 50th Infantry Battalion.

Since the beginning of the year, the unit has mobilized nearly 1,000 working days, coordinated with local authorities to dredge more than 4 km of intra-field canals, clear and clean over 12 km of village roads; at the same time, the unit supported the reclamation of more than 2 hectares of production land. In particular, implementing the movement "The Army joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", the unit has repaired and built 20 houses.
Soldier Pham Trung Duc (Company 2) shared: “Every time we go on a field trip to help people, we feel very proud. We are both soldiers protecting the border and close to the people like family members.”
Mr. Nguyen Trong Phuc - Chairman of Ia Dom Commune People's Committee - said: "Ia Dom is the first commune on the western border of the province to meet the new rural standards. That result is thanks to the great help of the armed forces stationed in the area, including the 50th Infantry Battalion. In the coming time, the locality will continue to closely coordinate with the unit to do a good job of mass mobilization and take care of people's lives."
