(QNO) - This morning, August 17, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan chaired a meeting with departments, branches and localities on the work of hosting the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival for the 2023-2024 school year, Region III in Quang Nam .
According to the report of the Department of Education and Training, with the consent of the Ministry of Education and Training, Quang Nam will host the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival for the 2023-2024 school year, Region III. There are 13 provinces and cities in the Central region (from Thanh Hoa to Khanh Hoa ) participating in the competition with 11 sports.
The event is expected to take place from May 25 to June 2, 2024, focusing on Tam Ky City and Nui Thanh District. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Provincial Sports and Physical Training Center.
The 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival is a school sports playground for primary, secondary and high school students across the country. In Quang Nam, about 2,000 athletes are expected to compete.
After listening to the opinions of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, departments, branches and Nui Thanh district, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan said that this is a big job for the province, so units and localities, according to their tasks and functions, urgently develop plans to ensure the hosting work is safe, effective and of high quality.
Specifically, review the infrastructure of the planned competition venues with the motto of utilizing all available venues and facilities to organize with the requirement of ensuring the best quality; at the same time, soon have a plan to invest and upgrade facilities and equipment for the competition.
“With the responsibility of the host locality, it is necessary to pay attention to preparing well the force, organizing serious training to get good competition results. After this meeting, quickly complete the overall plan, assign responsibilities to each agency and unit for the Provincial People's Committee to issue and soon implement,” Mr. Tuan emphasized.
