(Dan Tri) - The National Assembly has decided to supplement personnel work and carry out the approval process for the proposal to dismiss General To Lam from the position of Minister of Public Security .

On the afternoon of May 21, Secretary General Bui Van Cuong, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, presented a Proposal proposing to adjust the agenda of the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly. The Proposal stated that, based on the opinions of competent authorities, implementing legal provisions and the requirements for perfecting the State apparatus, after considering the Prime Minister's proposal to supplement the content of approving the proposal to dismiss the Minister of Public Security, the National Assembly Standing Committee proposed that the National Assembly allow the addition of the content of approving the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss the Minister of Public Security and planned to arrange for the National Assembly to conduct this content along with the content of personnel work at the sessions on the afternoon of May 21 and the morning of May 22. The National Assembly then voted to approve the adjustment of the meeting agenda with 468/469 delegates participating in the vote in favor (accounting for 96.1% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).

The personnel introduced for this position is General To Lam, Minister of Public Security. General To Lam was born in 1957, from Van Giang district, Hung Yen province. He is a member of the Politburo of the 12th and 13th terms; a member of the Party Central Committee of the 11th, 12th and 13th terms; and a National Assembly delegate of the 14th and 15th terms. After 5 years of studying at the People's Security University, Mr. To Lam became an officer of the Political Protection Department I, then held many positions in units of the Ministry of Public Security and held many important positions in the Ministry of Public Security throughout his career, until he was elected President.
