The drill simulated a scenario on the Red River where, due to Typhoon No. 10, strong waves and winds caused two fishing boats to collide, resulting in two people being thrown into the river and struggling to stay afloat. Upon receiving news of the accident, the Hanoi City Red Cross mobilized Red Cross volunteers who quickly arrived at the scene. After reaching the victims, the volunteers promptly checked and assessed their condition and provided first aid.
Witnessing the situation, Mr. Nguyen Van Ngot, from Group 2, Phu Thuong Ward, said: "I am a resident living around here, and I find this program very practical and meaningful. It helps us learn more about skills to ensure the safety of ourselves and our loved ones."

Disaster prevention and response is a priority for the Hanoi Red Cross Society, implemented through relief and emergency assistance activities for those affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods. Disaster prevention and response drills aim to minimize risks and negative impacts of natural disasters on the people. This also helps to enhance the capacity of Red Cross officials, members, and volunteers in disaster prevention and response.
All activities in the program are guaranteed to be completely safe for personnel and equipment throughout the entire exercise./.
