Poinsettias were first discovered in 1834. Their distinctive and striking colors made them very popular, widely cultivated in many countries, and used to decorate for Christmas and especially for holidays and Tet (Vietnamese New Year). Poinsettias are also known by other names such as: Christmas flower, first-class red, star flower, leaf-on-leaf flower, or leaf-on-leaf flower. Photo: TP
