Speaking at a press conference, Vice Chairman of the Son Tay Town People's Committee Le Dai Thang said: The 2024 National Band Festival is organized by the Son Tay Town Cultural, Information and Sports Center, the Vietnam Musicians Association, in coordination with the Hanoi Music Association and the Son Tay Town People's Committee.
The festival aims to bring to the people of Son Tay town and surrounding areas a rich and diverse range of high-quality musical performances; thereby creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, developing the cultural and artistic movement in the community and among workers. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for artists from all over the country to gather, meet, learn, share, and exchange experiences in artistic activities, aiming to improve professional skills and continue creating quality artistic products to serve society.

With the participation of bands representing public and private performing arts organizations nationwide, the festival will bring together artists, musicians, and singers, contributing to enhancing the spiritual life of the people, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere, and serving as a driving force to promote economic , cultural, and social development, celebrating the holidays of the city and towns.
The festival will take place from October 31st to November 2nd, 2024 at the Son Tay Town Cultural, Information and Sports Center.
According to the organizers, 12 bands have so far registered for the 2024 National Band Festival. The bands will be divided into two categories. Category A is for bands from professional and private art organizations. Category B is for amateur bands and groups; private bands and groups; and bands and groups belonging to other social organizations.
Each band participating in the festival will perform four pieces, including two instrumental pieces (using one foreign work) and two songs (one of which must be about Hanoi). Entries performing live on stage can register as a group or collective, with a maximum of 10 people per group (including singers). Performance styles include Pop, Rock, Jazz, or new, complex genres incorporating technological effects.
Regarding the prize structure, in addition to first, second, and third prizes in each category, the Organizing Committee will award special prizes and encouragement prizes to groups and individual band members who demonstrate high professional skills and outstanding performance abilities.
The awards ceremony for outstanding works will take place at 8 PM on November 2nd, at the main stage of the Son Tay Ancient Citadel pedestrian street (Son Tay town), and is expected to be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television, and streamed online on digital platforms such as YouTube and TikTok.

Furthermore, following the National Band Festival, the People's Committee of Son Tay town is also coordinating with relevant units to organize the Miss Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Contest. The final round of the contest is scheduled to be held on December 24, 2024, at the Son Tay Town Cultural, Information and Sports Center.
The competition aims to find a beauty queen with the qualities of "beauty, character, and talent" to promote the image of the Vietnamese ao dai (traditional dress) and highlight the role and capabilities of Vietnamese women in the process of integration and development, promoting Vietnam and its people to international friends. At the same time, the competition will emphasize the unique cultural values of Son Tay, especially its historical and cultural relics and natural landscapes, thereby attracting the attention of domestic and international tourists and boosting local economic development.
Throughout the competition, the image of the ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) will be strongly promoted through media activities and events. Contestants will have the opportunity to introduce the ao dai, its history, and its significance to a wide audience. The contestants will become cultural ambassadors, carrying the message about the beauty and value of the ao dai, linked to cultural heritage, to the public, thereby preserving and promoting the traditional beauty of the ao dai in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.
