About to build 7 schools worth 1,500 billion in Gia Lai border communes

Implementing the policy of the Politburo and the Government on developing education in disadvantaged areas, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) is coordinating with ministries, branches and localities to deploy a pilot project to build 100 inter-level boarding schools for primary and secondary schools in 100 border communes across the country.

Accordingly, Gia Lai will invest in building 7 schools in 7 border communes of the province including: Ia Puch, Ia Mo, Ia O, Ia Chia, Ia Pnôn, Ia Nan and Ia Dom. The total capital for the project is over 1,516 billion VND; of which the central budget is nearly 1,468 billion VND.

On October 25, Mr. Lam Hai Giang - Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, inspected the actual preparation work for the groundbreaking of the Primary and Secondary Boarding School project in 7 border communes of the province.
According to Mr. Lam Hai Giang, building schools for border communes is a major decision, with profound political , social and humanistic significance, demonstrating the special attention of the Party and State to the people, especially students in border areas.

Mr. Giang emphasized that when completed, the project will help thousands of students in disadvantaged areas have stable conditions for studying and living, contributing to improving the quality of education and creating a driving force for sustainable development in the border area of Gia Lai province.

Mr. Giang requested that the border communes urgently coordinate with the units to agree on compensation and site clearance plans; complete the documents, approve and implement before October 29. At the same time, urgently complete the land recovery procedures according to regulations.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the Provincial Investment Project Management Board and the Ia Nan Commune People's Committee to develop a specific and detailed plan to organize the groundbreaking ceremony on November 2.
